According to the State Border Service data, in January-June 2023 the Republic of Azerbaijan received 918,8 thousand or 43,9 percent more foreigners and stateless persons from 181 countries of the world compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. 32,9% of the arrivals were from the Russian Federation, 19,2% – Türkiye, 7,7% – Iran, 5,2% – India, 4,9% – Georgia, 2,4% – Saudi Arabia, per 2,3% - Pakistan and Kazakhstan, 2,1% – United Arab Emirates, 1,8% - Uzbekistan, per 1,5% - Belarus and Ukraine, 1,3% – Kuwait, per 1,2% – Great Britain and Turkmenistan, 12,5% – were citizens of other countries. 72,2% of the arrivals were men and 27,8% were women.

In comparison with the same period of the previous year, the number of arrivals from China increased by 7,2-fold, Turkmenistan – 3,9-fold, India – 3,1-fold, Belarus – 2,3-fold, Uzbekistan – 2,2-fold, Kazakhstan – 1,9-fold, Russian Federation – 1,9-fold, Israel – 1,6-fold, USA – 44,2%, Kuwait – 37,2%, Georgia – 35,5%, Great Britain – 34,6%, United Arab Emirates – 22,7%, Pakistan – 16,1%, Türkiye – 15,9%, while the number of arrivals from Saudi Arabia decreased by 23,6%, Iran – 14,9%, Oman – 9,9%, Ukraine – 6,2%.

Compared to January-June 2022, the number of arrivals from the CIS countries increased by 1,9-fold and amounted to 385,8 thousand persons, from EU member countries increased by 40,0 percent and amounted to 46,7 thousand persons, from Gulf countries it decreased by 8,9% and amounted to 134,2 thousand persons.

68,8% of foreigners and stateless persons arriving in our country used air transport, 29,8% - railway and car, and 1,4% - sea transport.

The total number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan going abroad increased by 16,3% compared to January-June 2022 and amounted to 791,7 thousand persons. The number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan traveling to Russian Federation increased by 1,8-fold, Georgia - 34,5%, while the number of citizens traveling to Iran decreased by 31,0%, Türkiye – 1,9%. 40,2 of the country citizens travelled to Türkiye, 23,9% – Russian Federation, 9,4% – Georgia, 7,9% - Iran and 18,6% to other countries. 68,3% of the travelers were men and 31,7% were women.

In January-June 2023, 67,3% of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who visited foreign countries used air transport, 29,9% railway and car, and 2,8% sea transport.
