A meeting was held between Mr. Azer Mursagulov, Chairman of the State Statistical Committee, and the delegation led by Ms. Roland Price, World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus.

On May 10, the management and staff of the State Statistical Committee visited the Alley of Honors and paid tribute to the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the founder and architect of the modern independent Azerbaijani state and the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, on the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of his birth and laid a wreath and flowers at his tomb. 

A delegation led by Azer Mursagulov, Chairman of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, is paying a visit to Türkiye.

On 23 April 2026, an event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the statistical authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic, jointly organized by the Interstate Statistical Committee of the CIS and the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic was held in Bishkek and on 24 April, the 75th meeting of the Council of Heads of Statistical Services of the CIS member states took place in the Issyk-Kul region.

The fifty-seventh session of the United Nations Statistical Commission and the High-Level Forum on Official Statistics, focusing on Beyond GDP were held in New York from 2 to 6 March 2026. Vahab Mammadov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, attended the events.

On February 26, the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan held an event dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide.

On February 13, an extended Board meeting devoted to discussing the activities of the country’s statistical bodies in 2025 and the tasks ahead for 2026 was held at the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, with the participation of the heads of the structural divisions of the Committee’s Administration, the State Statistical Committee of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, as well as the city and district statistical offices.

Mr. Khalid Ahadov, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on social and economic affairs introduced Mr. Azer Mursagulov, appointed as Chairman of the State Statistical Committee pursuant to the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 10 February 2026 to the staff of the Committee on 11 February.

The delegation led by Tahir Budagov, Chairman of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, held a number of meetings in Ho Chi Minh City— economic and financial center of the country and its largest city by population—within the framework of the visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
