The number of nights spent in hotels in the country in January-September 2021 increased by 66.3 percent compared with the same period of 2020 and amounted to 1340.6 thousand. 46.3% of the nights in hotels were registered in Baku, 8.8% in Khachmaz, 8.5% in Gabala, 5.8% in Shabran, 5.7% in Guba, 4.4% in Lankaran, 3.8% in Gusar, 2.7% in Naftalan, 1.8% in Gakh, 1.7% in Shamakhi, 1.4% in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, 1.3% in Masalli, 1.1% in Mingachevir, 0.7% in Ganja, 0.6% in Zagatala, 0.5% in Shaki, 0.5% in Astara and 4.4% in other districts (cities).

The number of nights spent by foreigners and stateless persons decreased by 35.0 percent compared with the same period of 2020 and amounted to 241.0 thousand, representing 18.0% of total nights. 15.3% of the nights were Turkish citizens, 11.3% - citizens of the Russian Federation, 11.2% - Great Britain, 6.0% - United Arab Emirates, 3.4% - Italy, 3.2% - Germany, 3.1% - Israel citizens, 3.1% - USA, 2.2% - Qatar, 1.9% - Ukraine, 1.7% - India, 1.5% - Belarus, 1.4% - the Netherlands, 1.3% - Iran, 1.3% - Kazakhstan, 1.2% - France, 1.0% - Norway, 1.0% - Georgia, 28.9% - citizens of other countries.

82.9% of the nights in hotels spent by foreigners and stateless persons were registered in Baku city, 5.3% in Gabala, 3.2% in Gusar, 2.1% in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, 1.8% in Guba, 1.6% in Shabran, 1.3% in Naftalan, 0.4% in Mingachevir, 0.4% in Shamakhi, 1.0% in other districts and cities. The number of nights spent by the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan increased by 2.5 times compared to January-September 2020 and amounted to 1099.6 thousand.

In January-September 2021, hotels' revenues increased by 62.4 percent compared with the corresponding period of 2020 and amounted to 154.1 million manats, 60.8% of which were services for the provision of rooms, 28.6% for catering services, 2.3% for treatment and health services, and 8.3% for other services.

In January-September 2021, the average level of use of the number of hotels in the country was 11.2% (7.0% in January-September 2020). This indicator was 83.1% in Shabran, 24.7% in Beylagan, 21.3% in Guba, 21.0% in Naftalan, 20.4% in Lankaran, 17.5% in Gabala, 13.8% in Shamkir, 13.8% in Aghjabadi, 13.5% in Baku, 13.2% in Jalilabad, 13.0% in Barda, 11.4% in Shamakhi, while in other cities and regions it was below average.
