From the beginning of the year number of population of the country increased by 7994 persons or 0,1% and became to 10127127 persons for the state of the 1st March 2021. The population per square kilometer is 117 persons.

53,0 percent of the population is urban, 47,0 percent is rural residents, 49,9 percent is male and 50,1 percent is female. At present, there are 1002 women per 1000 men.

On first two months of current year 20984 newborns by country were registered by the region (city) Registration Departments of Ministry of Justice and per 1,000 person of population, this indicator was 13,0%. 53,2 % of newborns were boys, 46,8% were girls. 510 of infants were twins, 9 triplets.

13338 deaths were registered in the country on January-February 2021 and the number of deaths was 8,2% per 1000 person.

On January-February of the current year 5672 marriages and 2417 divorces were registered by the region (city) Registration Departments of Ministry of Justice and the number of marriages was 3,5 and divorces was 1,5 per 1000 person.

On January-February of current year the relevant authorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Migration Service registered 395 person arrivals to Azerbaijan for permanent residence and 47 person departures from the country and migration positive balance made up 348 person.
