Implementation of forest restoration activities
In 2020 forest restoration activities have been implemented in forest fund lands of 10382 ha by the Forestry Development Service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources for the purpose of increasing of the level of use of economically fruitful plant types in the planting of greenery, prevention of rarefaction and decreasing of forest areas, land erosion control and generally for environmental improvement. In the framework of the implemented activities forest plantations were carried out in 527,3 ha of area, forest sowings in 121,2 ha of area, forest orchards were planted in 68,5 ha areas and plantations of industrial importance consisting of fast-growing tree species were planted in 5 hectares and supplementary activities for forest natural restoration have been implemented in 9660 ha of area. In general, the area of serviced forest plantations, sowings and forest orchards was 21668,6 ha.
In addition, seeds were sown in 9,6 ha of sown areas, 93,2 thousand rods were buried in 2.0 hectares of rooting rods areas.
In 2020 there have been stocked up 51,0 tons of seeds of fruit, forest tree and bush types, of which 1,6 tons were per the share of walnuts, 0,5 tons – almonds, 0,4 tons – other fruit tress, 46,8 tons – oaks and 1,7 tons – other forest trees and bush types seeds.
