According to the State Border Service data, in January-April 2023 the Republic of Azerbaijan received 522,9 thousand or 1,6 times more foreigners and stateless persons from 168 countries of the world compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. 31,7% of the arrivals were from the Russian Federation, 20,9%– Turkey, 8,4% – Iran, 5,5% – Georgia, 5,0% – India, 2,3% – Pakistan, 2,2% – United Arab Emirates, 2,0% - Kazakhstan, 1,8% - Uzbekistan, 1,7% – Saudi Arabia, 1,6% – Ukraine and Belarus, 1,3% – Turkmenistan, 1,2% – Kuwait, 12,8% – were citizens of other countries. 75,8% of the arrivals were men and 24,2% were women.

In comparison with the same period of the previous year, the number of arrivals from China increased by – 4,3 times, India – 4,2 times, Turkmenistan – 3,8 times, Uzbekistan – 3,3 times, Belarus – 3,3 times, Kazakhstan – 2,1 times, Pakistan - 1,9 times, Russian Federation – 1,9 times, Great Britain – 1,9 percent, Netherland - 1,9 times, Israel – 1,8 times, USA – 1,7 times, Oman – 1,6 %, Kuwait – 48,9 %, United Arab Emirates – 44,5 %, Georgia – 43,8 %, Turkey – 31,0 %.

Compared to January-April 2022, the number of arrivals from the CIS countries increased by 1,9 times and amounted to 213,4 thousand persons, from EU member countries increased by 1,7 times and amounted to 27,6 thousand persons, from Gulf countries it increased by 4,0 % and amounted to 76,2 thousand persons.

33,7% of foreigners and stateless persons arriving in our country used rail and car, 64,8% - air, and 1.5% - sea transport.

The number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan going abroad increased by 23,2% compared to January-April 2022 and amounted to 493,1 thousand persons. The number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan traveling to Russian Federation increased by 1,8 times, Georgia - 41,6 %, Turkey – 5,5 times, the number of citizens to Iran decreased by 26,5 %. 38,9 % of the country citizens traveled to Turkey, 24,1 % – Russian Federation, 9,4 % – Georgia, 7,8 % - Iran and 19,8% to other countries. 69,6 % of the travelers were men and 30,4 % were women.

In January-April 2023, 29,5 % of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who visited foreign countries used rail and car, 67,8 % air and 2,7 % sea transport.
