In January-February 2021 legal and natural entities of the Republic of Azerbaijan realized trade operations with their partners in 142 countries of the world, goods were exported to 79 countries and imported from 133 countries.

Taking into account value of statistically estimated exported crude oil and natural gas registered in the customs agencies but customs formalities of which not completed the foreign trade turnover of the country in January-February 2021 made 4515,0 million USD. 2903,0 million USD or 64,3% of trade turnover made the export value, 1612,0 (35,7%) million USD – import value and consequently positive trade balance reached to 1291,0 million USD. In comparison with January-February 2020 foreign trade turnover decreased in actual price by 7,5%, in real terms by 17,1%, including import – 28,3%, export - 10,6%.

In January-February 2021 the export of non-oil gas products, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, increased in actual price by 12,1%, while in real terms it decreased by 3,2% and made 331,3 million USD.

According to the State Customs Committee data, 37,6% of export value was formed based on goods exported to Italy, 10,9% - Turkey, per 7,8% - India and Georgia, 6,3% - Spain, 4,4% - Portugal, 4,2% - Ukraine, 4,1% - China, 3,2% – Russia, 2,2% - Croatia, 1,6% - UK, 1,5% - Germany, per 1,4% - Israel and Belarus, 1,3% - Switzerland and the rest 4,3% - other countries.

The share of goods sent to Turkey (32,3%), Russia (25,8%), Switzerland (10,6%), Georgia (8,6%), USA (4,0%), China (2,9%), Ukraine (1,7%), Germany (1,5%), Turkmenistan (1,3%), Italy (1,2%), Iran (1,1), UK (1,0%) was prevailed in export value on non-oil gas products.

15,1% of total value of goods imported to our country was per the share of Russia, 14,8% – Turkey, 12,6% - China, 8,8% – Germany, 5,2% - USA, 3,9% – Iran, per 3,8% - UK and Ukraine, 3,1% - Italy, 2,0% - Norway, 1,9% – Korea, 1,6% - Australia, 1,5% - Poland, per 1,4% – India and Japan and 19,1% - other countries.

In January-February 2021 compared to the corresponding period of previous year export of main types of products like fresh fruit increased by 25,4%, sugar – 1,9 times, fruit and vegetable juice – 33,9%, natural grape wine and cellar – 1,9 times, potato – 1,7 times, cotton fiber – 26,2%, cotton yarn – 4,7%, polyethylene – 27,1%, bentonite clay – 23,7%, while export of fresh vegetable decreased by 27,6%, vegetable oils – 26,3%, tea – 12,7%, fruit and vegetable cans – 15,3%, margarine, other mixtures fit for food – 31,1%, tobacco – 70,4%, unprocessed aluminum – 30,4%, ferrous metal pipes – 30,1%.

In January-February 2021 compared to January-February 2020 import of raw sugar and sugar increased by 2,5 times, fresh vegetable – 3,2 times, cigarettes – 45,6%, medical products – 1,8 times, rubber tires – 12,1%, mineral fertilizers – 2,0 times, domestic trucks – 12,8%, air conditioners – 8,0%, domestic refrigerators – 20,7%, while import of fresh fruit decreased by 0,3%, vegetable oils 33,7%, potato – 4,0%, butter, other milk fats and pastas – 11,2%, tea – 17,6%, wheat – 77,3%, beef – 18,8%, poultry meat and its additional products – 25,9%, motor cars – 19,6%, ferrous metal pipes – 42,5%, steel rolling – 56,9%, computing machinery, blocks and installations – 10,8%, ferrous metal rods – 37,6%, furniture – 28,4%, polyethylene – 28,1%, washing machines – 8,8%, busses - 40,6%, ferrous metal corners – 31,8%, cement and cement clinker – 19,9%.
