President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of a new administrative building of Baku City Statistical Office of the State Statistical Committee.

The opening of a new administrative building of Baku City Statistical Office of the State Statistical Committee was held on March 7.

AZERTAC informs that President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening ceremony.

The head of the state cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the building.

The new administrative building of the Baku City Statistical Office was built according to "The State Program on Improvement of Official Statistics of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2013-2017" approved by the order of the President of Azerbaijan Republic in 2012. 

The head of the state was informed about the current situation of the regional departments of Baku City Statistical Office. It was noted that the submitting the new administrative building into use will encourage the regional departments located at various addresses in buildings that do not meet modern requirements and that are rented by Baku City Statistical Office, to operate as a single organizational structure and will contribute to the substantial improvement of the working conditions of the employees. 

At the same time it will also contribute the acceleration of recent years’ reforms in the statistical system.

President Ilham Aliyev was informed about the work done recently in the development of official statistics.

The head of the state was informed about the data quality control tables and the process of preparation of data on price statistics.

President Ilham Aliyev also got acquainted with the national information portal of Azerbaijan for Sustainable Development Goals. The portal was created to deliver comprehensive global and nationally detailed information about 17 goals, 169 targets and 244 indicators identified by the United Nations on sustainable development. The portal will be the only national online source for Sustainable Development, which will operate in Azerbaijani and English languages.

Then the Chairman of the State Statistical Committee Tahir Budagov informed President Ilham Aliyev about the conditions created in the building.

It was reported that, the building consists of six floors where 166 persons will work. All the conditions are provided here for the comfort of the employees.
