United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (ECE), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) with the support of Committee on Statistics of the Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan (KAZSTAT) are organizing a workshop for Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia Countries (EECCA) , Mongolia, Turkey and Russia on Integrating Non-Traditional Data Sources in the Production of the SDG Indicators: Institutional and organizational environment, cooperation, dialogue and partnerships in Almaty, Kazakhstan between 28-30 November 2017. Rauf Salimov,  Deputy Chairman  and Rasim Safarov, Head of the Department on Sustainable Development Statistics of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan participating in this event.
According to the agenda of the event, the issues of institutional, organizational and technical issues of the state statistical bodies are discussed, as well as non-traditional data sources such as administrative registrations, geomagnetic information and large data called "Big Data" for the preparation of official statistics and SDG indicators.
Representatives of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan also made presentations on the statistical registers and sources of administrative information, their legal base and institutional environment in their official statistics.
