INOGATE Regional Seminar on Energy Planning - “From Energy Statistics to Energy Policies: helping INOGATE Partner Countries adopt adequate institutional frameworks, methodologies and tools” held in Chisinau, Moldova.

The Energy Statistics and Electricity and Gas Components of the INOGATE Technical Secretariat jointly organized a Regional Seminar on Energy Planning - “From Energy Statistics to Energy Policies: helping INOGATE Partner Countries adopt adequate institutional frameworks, methodologies and tools” in Chisinau, Moldova, on 30 June – 1 July and representative of The Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan Republic - Chief of Administration I. Huseynov and Deputy Head of Department of Industry and Construction Statistics of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan A. Karimov participated at the seminar.
Representatives from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Belarus, Armenia as well as representatives of INOGATE, International Energy Agency (IEA), Energy Community Secretariat Ministry on Economy of Moldova, Energy Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Azerbaijan participated in the seminar.
The objective of the seminar was to help INOGATE Partner Countries (PCs) adopt and implement best-practice institutional frameworks and methodologies for a better and more consensual governance of the energy planning process; to provide PCs with information about adequate methodologies and tools to develop credible medium to long-term energy forecasts and scenarios; to demonstrate the importance of quality energy statistics and data for the development and monitoring of fact-based energy policies and measures; and ultimately contribute to raise the profile of energy statistics for policy-makers so that National Statistical Offices remain or become sufficiently staffed and equipped; to give Partner Countries the opportunity to fuel the discussion on the shaping of the future energy cooperation with the EU in the fields of Energy Statistics and Energy Policies.
During the seminar participants presented presentations and after presentations all topics were discussed.
