Regional Seminar on Industrial Statistics Questionnaires held in Austria, Vienna

Representative of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan H.Dadashov – Head of Department on Industry and Construction Statistics participated in the regional seminar on Industrial Statistics Questionnaires organized by UNIDO on 20-21 November, 2014 in Austria, Vienna. Representatives from the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan, CIS Statistical Committee, Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kirgizstan, Turkmenistan, Moldova, Armenia, UNIDO as well as invited expert I.Ulyanov, Nuru Suleymanov – Head of Department of National Accounts and Macro-economic Indicators Statistics participated in the regional seminar.
The main objective of the seminar was to bring the statisticians of the CIS region together to identify recommendations on improvement of their structural and associated business surveys and questionaires in accordance with the international recommendations and to share their country's experience.
Followings the questionnaire – essential tool for data collection; data items for industrial statistics as per IRIS- 2008; single vs multiple questionnaires; UNIDO model questionnaire – an example of single questionnaire; multiple questionnaires; compilation of major indicators of industrial statistics from the existing questionnaires; experience of transition from a multiple questionnaire to the single questionnaire system; a minimum set of indicators for harmonization of industrial statistics; questionnaire and other survey issues; enterprise size class and questionnaire; monthly/quarterly survey; business tendency survey; summary of the key points were discussed during the workshop.
As well as all participant countries Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Armenia, Moldova and others presented their country reports during the seminar.
