Workshop on Geographic Information Systems held in Tbilisi, Georgia

Representative of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sanar Dadashev – Adviser of the Department of Data Dissemination participated in the workshop on Geographic Information Systems organized by the United Nations Population Fund of Central Asia countries and UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs on Caucasus and Central Asia countries on 24-26 November, 2014 in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Representatives of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Armenia participated in the Workshop. Representatives from the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ministry of Emergency Situations and State Land and Cartography Committee also participated above mentioned workshop.
The main purpose of the workshop was designed for the organizations struggling against emergency situations and the main topic of this workshop was overcome crisis in emergency situations.
During the workshop above mentioned topic was discussed and it was recommended to carry out some surveys like censuses of population suffered from emergency situations, sample, Demography and Health Survey and other statistical surveys.
