Training course of International Energy Agency held in Paris, France

Representative of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan Nargiz Babayeva – Head Adviser of the department on Industry and Construction Statistics participated in the training course organized by International Energy Agency in Paris, France on 6-10 October, 2014.
34 representatives from 26 countries including Australia, Azerbaijan, Germany, Belgium, Bulgaria, Ghana, Denmark, Chile, China, Croatia, India, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Korea, Kuwait, Namibia, Nepal, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Philippine, Tunis, Turkey, France participated in the course.
The main purpose of this course was to provide participants with the methods and tools to develop and maintain complete and accurate national energy datasets and national energy balances.
In the first day of the course topic on monthly and annual data extraction on movement of energy products and “Energy Statistics in France: demands and opportunities” was presented.
As well as topics on oil statistics, gas statistics, renewables statistics, easy access to IEA statistics, electricity and heat statistics, checks and consistency in energy statistics, EA databases and tools, energy balances, preparing estimates of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, introduction to the development of energy indicators, introduction to the manual on statistics for energy efficiency indicators and others were discussed during the course.
The last day of the course according to the agenda Maria van der Hoeven - Executive Director of International Energy Agency talked about the importance of the course and gave information about international cooperation and other practices.
At the end of the course the final version of new guidelines “Recommendations on energy efficiency” in English was presented to the participants.
