High-level Meeting for Coordinated Implementation of International Standards for Macroeconomic Statistics held in Vladivostok, Russian Federation

Head Adviser of the Department of National Accounts and Macro-economic Indicators Statistics of the Republic of Azerbaijan participated in the High-level Meeting for Coordinated Implementation of International Standards for Macroeconomic Statistics held on 3-4 September, 2014 in Vladivostok, the Russian Federation. This meeting organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and the State Federal Statistics Service of the Russian Federation (ROSSTAT) with funding from the Russian Federation and in cooperation with the International Monetary Fund, European Free Trade Association, the Statistical Office for the European Union, United Nations Statistics Division and the World Bank.
Representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, the Russian Federation, Turkey, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan statistical bodies as well as IMF and United Nations Statistics Division participated in the meeting.
The High-level Meeting was designed, on the base of numerous assessments and consultations, within the framework of the Regional Programme for the improvement of economic statistics in Asia and the Pacific (RPES). The purpose of the meeting was to advocate and mobilize support for the coordinated implementation of the three main and recently updated macroeconomic statistical frameworks, i.e. The System of National Accounts (SNA2008), the Balance of Payments and International Investment Position Manual (BPM6) and the Government Finance Statistics Manual (GFSM 2014) which were harmonized at the conceptual level. Therefore, the High-level Meeting aimed to bring together the main economic statistics providers and decision makers from national statistical offices, central banks and ministers of finance and the ministers of economic development of the participated countries as well as international organizations.
At the end of the meeting it was adopted Statement reflecting the results of the meeting.
