Meeting on forecasting of supply and demand to labor force in labor market in the Eastern Partnership Region was held in Turin, Italy

Head of Labor Statistics Department of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan – Natella Guliyeva participated in the meeting on forecasting of supply and demand to labor force in labor market in the Eastern Partnership Region organized by ETF and the Employment Issues in the European Commission was held on 25-27 June, 2014 in Turin.
Representatives of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine and Armenia as well as experts of ETF, Economic Research and Consulting, IBF International Consulting International Lead Expert and Maastricht University participated in the meeting.
The main objective of the Skills Matching project was to improve skills anticipation and matching approaches in the region through exchange of experience and peer-learning across the countries by a network of experts. The ETF, in cooperation with the European Commission, provided thematic expertise and facilitate such exchange of experience in the area across the six Eastern Partnership Region countries.
The focus of the first day of the workshop was: Introduce the objectives of the 2.5 days of work; set the context of the initiative, sharing the results of the stocktaking exercise, introduce the key tools for evidence creation in relation to anticipation and matching; establish key learning objectives and outcomes of the initiative on the evidence creation.
The objective of the second day was to continue the work on exploring issues and challenges, and defining the work of the network. In particular, the focus was on the processes and the actors connected to skills anticipation and matching, and to establish a number of priorities for the network.
The objective of the third day was to establish the objectives of the network and the project, for the country and the network. Establish and agree on rules for work and methods.
