Meetings hold in Geneva by UNECE

Head of Department on Agricultural and Environment Statistics of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan – Rashad Bayramov participated in the three meetings held in Geneva, Switzerland on 10-12 June, 2013 organized by UNECE. The meetings were: 61st plenary session of the Conference of European Statisticians, 10-12 June 2013; Measurement of sustainable development in the Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia countries and workshop on Rio+ 20 - the second half of 12 June; Special Programme (SPECA) for the economy of Central Asia, Caucasus and Mongolia countries – the second half of 13 June.
Heads of the statistical services of USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Columbia, China, Japan, Israel and Australia as well as, representatives of some international organizations (IMF, WB, ECO, Statistical Department of UNO, Eurostat, ILO and etc.) participated in the meetings. Plenary session mainly divided into some thematic parts. Following themes were discussed during the meeting: in the first phase (10th of June) “Difficulties in the determination of sustainable development and implementation of System of Ecological-economical accounts”; in the second phase (11th of June) “Difficulties in the Security of Access to Micro data for the purpose of Scientific Research”; a half day workshop on Special Programme (SPECA) for the economy of Central Asia for the member countries were carried out on the 13th of June. The member countries were: Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Mongolia.
