International Scientific Conference on New Techniques and Technologies for Statistics

Representatives of the State Statistical Committee G.Aliyev – Head of Department of Quality Management and Information Technologies and T.Ajalov – Deputy Head of Department on Coordination of Statistical Works participated in the International Scientific Conference on New Techniques and Technologies organized by Eurostat in Brussels, Belgium on 5-7 March, 2013.
The main purpose of the conference was presentation and dissemination of results of observations of statistical activities in the official and general statistics, support to the use of methodological and technological development by official statistics, future demands and development of statistical surveys, new models for the use of data, data access possibilities, improvement of ICT and discussions on the infrastructure of official statistics.
In the opening ceremony of the conference representative of Eurostat Ms. Mariana Kotseava, director of the Innovation and Observation Center of European Commission – Rober-Jan-Smits, vice-chancellor of Georgetown University of USA – Mr. Robert Groves, head analytic of the Institute for the Analysis of New Technology – Sander Duivestein were made statements.
There were about 350 experts from 56 countries participated in the conference. During the conference it was presented presentations on new scientific approaches and observations, e-collection of data, use from web technologies, analyze of data, new types of survey, statistical analysis, assessment, integration of data sources, use of registers, sample projects, calculation of sample errors and etc.
Trainers and experts of University of Israel, Italy, Belgium, France, Great Britain, Sweden, Holland, Finland, United States of America, Switzerland, Norway, Scientific-Research Institutes, Statistical Office of Norway, Israel, Italy, Holland and Finland were presented their presentations.
The next days of the conference there were presented presentations on “New sampling methods and types of survey”, “Use of registers and administrative data in statistics”, “Metadata, Data access and statistical disclosure control”, “Editing, imputation and revision of metadata” and “Common tools”.
