High-level Meeting on the improvement of Civil Registration and Vital Statistics in Asia and the Pacific, Bangkok, 10-11 December 2012

Representative of the SSC of the Republic of Azerbaijan Zabiha Asgar – head adviser of the Department of Population and Gender Statistics participated in the High-level meeting on the Improvement of Civil Registration and Vital Statistics in Asia and the Pacific hold on 10-11 December, 2012 at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok, Thailand. Totally 232 person participated in the Meeting. They were Representatives of 46 National Statistical Offices of Asia and the Pacific countries and Civil Registration Bodies, Ministries of Health, Economical and Social Commission of UNO, as well as, representatives of some international organizations. The primary objective of the High-Level Meeting was to review the political, institutional and resource challenges facing member States in improving their civil registration and vital statistics systems and to reach consensus around the key actions needed o enhance these systems in the Asia and the Pacific region.
