Participation of representatives of the State Statistical Committee in the 7th meeting of working group on statistics of SPEKA in Kyrgyzstan

Representatives of the State Statistical Committee head of Department of National Accounts and Macro-economic Indicators Statistics - Nuru Suleymanov and head of Department of Industry and Construction Statistics - Azad Abbasaliyev were participated in the 7th meeting of working group on statistics of SPEKA in Kyrgyzstan on 27-30 August, 2012.
Representatives of UNECE, Eurostat and The European Free Trade Association, experts of statistical agencies of the countries participating in the project SPEKA, as well as, experts of Norway and Iceland Statistical offices operating within the framework of bilateral cooperation in the region of SPEKA were participated in the meeting.
The purpose of meeting was consist of exchange of practices in the field of recent initiatives of SNA 2008 and discussion of approaches, better coordination of national statistical systems, modernization of the statistical production processes.
In the first session of the meeting regional consultant of UNECE gave information on Global Assessment of National Statistical Systems and emphasized that, there is a special role of Global Assessment for determination of the prospects for the development of the statistical system in the country and indicators of National Accounts statistics, as well as noted that this kind of assessments should be implemented once in 3-5 years.
Representatives of World Bank, Eurostat and statistical office of Norway gave information on activities in the direction of increasing of statistical potential in the region and the projects supported by these organizations, their progress and experience gained.
The second session of the meeting was devoted to the modernization of production of statistical information and provided services.
In the presentation of representative of UNECE was noted that, in recent years the volume of information produced in the world increased sharply and processing of this data flow (changing of statistical policy, formation of statistics) demands application of business architecture.
During the discussions representatives of the State Statistical Committee presented following issues in their presentations: improvement of base on statistical data in the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, creation of metadata system, new ways in the collection of statistical data, new information in statistics - application of communication technologies and quality management. As well as, our representatives informed the participants about the works carried out on the base of application of new version of SNA and future plans and also they answered to the question interested the participants.
At the end of the meeting the results of conference were discussed and the document defining further activity of working group of SPECA on statistics was adopted.
