Emissions of harmful substances into the atmospheric air
In 2020 volume of air pollutant emissions from stationary sources and motor vehicles compared to 2019 decreased by 312.6 thsd. tons and generally made 809.5 thsd. tons, of which 81.7 percent or 661.0 thsd. tons were per the share of harmful emissions from motor vehicles. Volume of emissions of harmful substances from motor vehicles decreased by 30.1 percent and volume of emissions from stationary sources – by 16.1 percent. Volume of emissions of harmful substances from stationary sources in Baku, the industrial center, decreased by 27.2 thsd. tons, Mingechevir – 0.5 thsd. tons, while in Sumgayit it increased by 0.2 thsd. tons.
As a result of preventive measures, last year 65.0 percent of harmful substances generated from stationary sources were captured and disposed by cleaning devices. During the year for decreasing quantity of emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere 92.0 thsd. tons of emissions of harmful substances into air basin were prevented due to improvement of technological processes in industrial enterprises and increasing efficiency of existing cleaning devices.
62.0 percent of total harmful emissions into the atmosphere made carbohydrates, 14.1 percent - nitrogen oxide, 11.6 percent – carbon oxide, 0.7 percent - sulfur anhydrite and the rest part – other pollutants.
