Hotels and similar establishments
In January-June 2019, 1327.5 thousand nights were spent on hotels, which is 3.0 percent more than the corresponding period of previous year. 63.3% of the nights in hotels were registered in Baku, 8.7% in Gabala, 4.0% in Naftalan, 3.9% in Guba, 3.8% in Gusar, 3.4% in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, 1.6% in Khachmaz, 1.3% in Mingachevir, per 0.9% in Gakh and Ganja and 8.2% in other districts (cities).
The number of nights spent by foreigners and stateless persons amounted to 954.2 thousand, representing 71.9% of total nights which is 2.0% more than the corresponding period of previous year. 12.9% of the nights were citizens of the United Arab Emirates, 12.2% - Russian citizens, 8.7% - Saudi Arabia, 5.9% - India, 5.6% - Israel citizens, 5.4% - Turkish citizens, 5.0% - Iranian citizens, 3.8% - Great Britain, 3.3% - citizens of Kuwait, 2.1% - USA, 2.0% - Pakistan, 1.9% - Qatar citizens, per 1.5% - citizens of Kazakhstan and Iraq, 1.3% - China, 1.2% - German, 25.7% - citizens of other countries.
77.6% of the nights in hotels spent by foreigners and stateless persons were registered in Baku city, 7.9% in Gabala, per 3.4% in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and Naftalan city, 3.0% in Guba, 2.1% in Gusar, 2.6% in other districts and cities. The number of nights spent by the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan amounted to 373.3 thousand which is 5.5% more compared to January-June 2018.
In the first half of current year, hotels' revenues amounted to 187.7 million manat or 12.4% more than the corresponding period of previous year, 66.1% of which were services for the provision of rooms, 24.8% of the services on the sale of food products, including beverages, 2.7% for treatment and health services, and 6.4% from other services.
In January-June 2019, the average level of use of the number of hotels in the country was 21.6% (20.8% in the first half of 2018). This indicator was 48.6% in Shabran, 47.9% in Naftalan, 32.9% in Baku, 30.9% in Beylagan 28.2% in Gabala, 24.5% in Guba, while in other cities and regions it was below average. The highest average level of use of the number of hotels was in June – 31.7%.
