From the beginning of the year number of population of the Republic of Azerbaijan increasing by 0.5% or 52427 persons became to 9950512 persons for the state of the 1st September 2018. Population density made 115 person per square kilometre. 52.9 percent of the population is urban, 47.1 percent is rural residents, 49.9 percent is male and 50.1 percent is women. At present, there are 1005 women per 1000 men.

90523 or on average every day 373 newborns by country during January-August of the current year registered by the region (city) Registration Departments of Ministry of Justice and this indicator made up 13.8 of per 1000 person of population. 53.1 per cent of newborn babies were boys and 46.9 per cent were girls. 1680 of infants were twins, 78 triplets.

On average 1.9 born children are per share of reproductive women in the country and that provides reproduction of population.

39496 deaths were registered in the country on January-August 2018 and the number of deaths was 6.6 per 1000 person.

In the eight months of the current year 40235 marriages and 9877 divorces were registered by the Registration Departments of Ministry of Justice and the number of marriages was 6.2 and divorces were 1.5 per 1000 person.

On January-August 2018 the relevant authorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Migration Service registered 2387 person arrivals to Azerbaijan for permanent residence and 987 person departures from the country and migration positive balance made up 1400 person.
