Changes in prices of consumer market
Prices of consumer goods and services in January-August 2018 compared to the corresponding period of 2017 increased by 2.7%, including food products 2.7%, non-food products 3.2%, paid services provided to population 2.4%.
In August of the current year compared to July prices of consumer goods and services increased by 0.9%, including food products 0.3%, non-food products 0.1% and paid services provided to population 2.2%.
During the month prices of flour, beef, sheep and chicken meat, egg, fish products, margarine and corn oil, sugar and sugar powder, green, tomato, cucumber, blue beans, potato, coffee and tea increased while the prices of porridge and buckwheat, pasta products, apple, pear, apricot, watermelon, melon, grape, eggplant, onion decreased. No significant changes had been observed in prices of other food products.
During the month prices of non-food products such as textile, clothes, construction materials, furniture and household things, cars and spare parts, bicycles, telephones, stationery increased while the prices of footwear, carpet and other floor coverings, and jewelry prices decreased. No significant changes had been observed in prices of other non-food products.
In August, compared to July, there had been observed increase in prices of paid services provided to population such as cleaning clothes, repairing and renting, car wash and repair, passenger services by subway and automobile transport, international passenger services by air transport to the foreign countries except CIS countries, higher education fees, renting apartments; decrease in prices of international passenger services by air transport to CIS countries. No significant changes had been observed in prices of other paid services.
