On January-June 2018, legal and natural entities of the Republic of Azerbaijan realized trade operations with their partners in 167 countries of the world; goods were exported to 99 countries and imported from 158 countries.

Taking into account value of statistically estimated exported crude oil and natural gas registered in the customs agencies but customs formalities of which not completed the foreign trade turnover on January-June 2018 made 14647.0 million USD, including export value – 9986.7 million USD, import value – 4660.3 million USD and consequently positive trade balance reached to 5326.4 million USD. In comparison with January-June 2017 foreign trade turnover increased in actual price by 36.7%, in real by 2.6%, including export - by 2.1% and import – 3.7%.

According to the State Customs Committee data, 22.0% of export value was formed based on goods exported to Italy, 8.2% - Israel, 7.5% - Turkey, 5.9% - Taiwan (the state of China), 5.3% - Indonesia, 4.4% - India, per 4.0% - Canada, Russia and Czech Republic, 3.8% - Germany, 3.7% - Portugal, 3.2% - Georgia, 2.9% - USA, 2.6% - France and the rest 18.5% - other countries.

16.9% of total value of goods imported to our country was per the share of import transactions with Russia, 16.3% - Turkey, 10.4% - China, 7.3% - Germany, 4.8% - USA, 4.2% - Ukraine, 3.4% - Italy, 2.9% - Iran, 2.5% - Belarus, 2.4%- United Kingdom, 28.9% - other countries.

On January-June 2018 non-oil products in amount of 846.5 million USD have been exported and that is more in actual prices for 15.0% and in real terms for 4.7% relatively to January-June 2017.

On January-June 2018 compared to the same period of 2017 export of main types of products like fresh vegetable increased by 0.8%, fresh fruit – 51.9%, potato – 15.5%, vegetable oils – 6.5%, natural grape wine and cellar – 2.6 times, fruit and vegetable cans – 30.8%, polyethylene – 9.5%, unprocessed aluminum – 22.5%, cotton fibre – 14.4%, ferrous metal pipes– 5.5%, cotton yarn – 16.8%, bentonite clay – 0.1%, while export of sugar – 48.4%, fruit and vegetable juice – 12.1%, tobacco – 13.3%, tea – 18.5%, margarine, other mixtures fit for food – 6.4%, semifinished ferrous metals decreased by 75.6%.

On January-June 2018 compared to January-June 2017 import of wheat increased by 22.2%, vegetable oils – 44.5%, fresh fruit – 49.1%, tea – 13.0%, ferrous metal pipes – 87.0%, motor cars – 2.9 times, steel rolling – 5.7%, mineral fertilizers – 85.4%, ferrous metal rods – 36.3%, furniture – 27.9%, computing machinery, blocks and installations – 8.2%, rubber tyres – 3.2%, polyethylene – 65.2%, domestic air conditioners – 20.4%, trucks – 2.4 times, washing machine – 46.4%, cement and cement clinkers – 71.8%, buses – 9.1%, domestic refrigerators – 2.2 times, while import of cigarettes decreased by 4.9%, butter, other milk fats and pastas – 13.9%, raw sugar and sugar – 61.5%, potato – 22.9%, poultry meat and its additional products – 3.2%, beef – 25.8%, fresh vegetable – 47.4%, ferrous metal corners – 25.0%.
