Hotel activities
In January-June 2018, 1 288,9 thousand nights were spent on hotels, which is 19.3 percent more than the same period of last year. 62.0% of the nights which were registered in hotels in Baku, 9.7% in Gabala, 5.1% in Gusar, 4.5% in Naftalan, 3.6% in Guba, 3.4% in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, 1.5% in Khachmaz, 1.1% in Agstapha and 9.1% in other districts (cities).
The number of nights spent by foreigners and stateless persons amounted to 935.2 thousand, representing 72.6% of total nights. 14.3% of the nights were citizens of the United Arab Emirates, 14.1% - Russian citizens, 6.6% - Iranian citizens, 4.5% - Turkish citizens, 4.3% - Saudi Arabia, 3.4% - citizens of Great Britain, per 3.3% - USA and India citizens, 3.2 % - Israel citizens, 2.9% - Qatar citizens, 2.8% - citizens of Kuwait, 2.1% - Iraq, 2.0% - Pakistan, 1.7% - Kazakhstan, 1.6% - German citizens, 1.3% - Ukrainian citizens, 28.6% - citizens of other countries.
In the first quarter of this year, hotels' revenues amounted to 167.0 million manat, of which 66.3% were services for the provision of rooms, 23.8% of the services on the sale of food products, including beverages, 3.8% for treatment and health services, and 6.1% from other services.
The average level of use of the number of hotels in the country was 20.8%. This indicator was lower 58.6% in Naftalan, 48.5% in Agstapha, 33.7% in Baku, 33.0% in Shirvan, 28.3% in Kurdamir, 27.5% in Gabala, 25.9% in Zardab, 23.9% in Kazakh, 22.9% in Mingecheur while in other cities and regions it was below average.
