According to the State Border Service data, in January-April 2018, Azerbaijan received from 182 countries of the world 847.6 thousand or 13.4% more foreigners and stateless persons compared to the same period of last year. 28.3% of the arrivals were from the Russian Federation, 21.9% - Georgia, 13.4% - Iran, 11.3% - Turkey, 4.6% - the United Arab Emirates, 2.0% - Ukraine, 1.9% - Iraq, 16.5% were citizens of other countries and 0.1 percent were stateless people. 66.8% of the arrivals were men and 33.2% were women. 22.0% of foreigners and stateless persons came to our country in January, 19.6% in February, 32.7% in March and 25.7% in April.

There has been a significant increase in the number of visitors from the Gulf countries (except Iran) in January-April 2018. Compared to January-April of last year, the number of Kuwait citizens arriving in Azerbaijan has increased for 6.4 times, Bahrain – 2.6 times, Qatar – 2.0 times, Saudi Arabia – 2.2 times, the number of citizens of Oman – 1.6 times, Iraq – 1.6 times and the number of citizens of the United Arab Emirates –1.2 times. The number of arrivals from Iran decreased by 5.4%.

Thus, in January-April 2018, the number of arrivals from EU members increased by 12.4% and amounted to 32.0 thousand, and from the CIS countries increased by 9.4% and amounted to 284.9 thousand.

60.6% of foreigners and stateless persons who came to our country used railway and automobile, 38.6% - air and 0.8% - water transport.

The number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan going abroad in January-April 2018 increased by 1.1% compared to same period of last year and amounted 1289.0 thousand persons. 31.3% of the country citizens traveled to Georgia, 27.7% - Iran, 21.9% - Russian Federation, 12.2% - Turkey, 1.7% - Ukraine, 1.4% - United Arab Emirates, 3.8% to other countries. 68.4% of the travelers were men and 31.6% were women.

During this period, the number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan traveling to Iran increased by 11.6%, 16.1% – Turkey, 3.6% - Georgia and the number of people going to the Russian Federation decreased by 1.1%.

In January-April 2018, 80.0% of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan visited foreign countries using railway and automobile, 19.1% - air and 0.9% - water transport.
