From the beginning of the year number of population of the Republic of Azerbaijan increasing by 0.1% or 13387 persons became to 9911472 persons for the state of the 1st March 2018. Population density made 114 person per square kilometre.

52.9% of population are urban and 47.1% rural inhabitants, 49.9% of population made up men, 50.1% women. On average there are 1000 men per 1004 women.

23331 or on average every day 395 newborns by country, 16 newborns per hour during January-February of the current year registered by the region (city) Registration Departments of Ministry of Justice and this indicator made up 14.7 of per 1000 person of population. 422 of infants were twins, 24 triplets. The share of girls among newborn babies is 47.3 per cent and 112 boys per 100 girl births (biodiversity 105-107).

10500 deaths were registered in the country on January-February 2018. The number of deaths per 1000 person has decreased from 7.1 to 6.6 per cent compared to the same period last year.

In the first two months of the current year 8065 marriages and 2383 divorces were registered by the Registration Departments of Ministry of Justice and the number of marriages was 5.1 and divorces were 1.5 per 1000 person.

On January-February 2018 the relevant authorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Migration Service registered 756 person arrivals to Azerbaijan for permanent residence and 200 person departures from the country and migration positive balance made up 556 person.
