In 2017 average number of employees engaged in economy was 194,5 thousand person, 33,8 thousand of them were the employees of the mining, 102.7 thousand processing, 26.7% electricity, gas and steam production, distribution and supply, 31.3 thousand water supply, waste treatment and processing.

In 2017 compared to corresponding period of the previous year average monthly nominal salary of employees engaged in the country economy increased by 7.6% and made 968,8 AZN. Salaries in the mining sector increased 9.9%, processing 7.2%, electricity, gas and steam production, distribution and supply 6.6%, water supply, waste treatment and processing 1.7%.
