For the state of March 1, 2016 number of employees engaged in the country economy were 1494.7 thousand person and 883.2 thousand of them were the employees of the public sector and 611.5 thousand person were the employees of the private sector.
22.7 % of employees were engaged in education, 19.1 % in trade, in the repair of transport means, 12.0% in industry, 8.9 % in health and social services, 6.3% in construction, 4.7% in transport and warehouse, 3.6% in professional, scientific and technical activity 3.0% in agriculture, forestry and fishing, 1.7 % in information and communication and 18.0% in other fields of economy.
In comparison with the corresponding period of previous year in January-February, 2016 average monthly nominal salary of employees engaged in the country economy increased by 6.2% and became to 472.2 AZN. Average monthly salary in mining industry, in finance and insurance activity, in construction, in information and communication, as well as, in professional, scientific and technical activity areas was higher.
