Macro-economic indicators of economic and social development of the country in January-May, 2015

During January-May, 2015 Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in amount of 21.3 milliard manat or more than 5.3% compared to corresponding period of last year was produced by the enterprises and organizations operating in the country as well as, natural entities. 36.4% of GDP was established in industry, 13.7% in construction complex, 13.7% in trade, in field of accommodation of tourists and catering sectors, 6.1% in transport, 2.0% in communication, 3.3% in agriculture, 15.7% in other fields. Net of tax to the product and import was formed 9.1% of GDP.
Value added in non-oil sector compared to the same period of 2014 increased by 7.6% and 2.4% in oil-gas sector.
During January-May industry products in amount of 10.8 milliard manat or more than 3.7% compared to corresponding period of 2014 were produced. Production output in mining sector increased by 2.5%, as well as marketable gas output 11.5% and oil output decreased by 0.9%.
63.5% of industry product was produced in mining sector, 28.0% in processing sector, 7.7% in distribution and supply on electricity, gas and steam, 0.8% in the sector of water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities.
Production of food products in processing sector increased by 3.8%, production of oil products 14.3%, chemical industry 2.0 times, production of rubber and plastic products 8.2%, production of construction materials 17.6%, metallurgical industry 14.4%, production of ready metal products and production of electrical equipment 1.9 times.
Production output in the sector of electricity, gas and steam production, distribution and supply has been increased by 4.3%.
Production output in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities increased by 7.0%.
In non-oil sector of industry production output has been increased by 12.4%.
99.2% of produced products were sent to consumers. However, for the state of 01June, 2015 considering the balance of the previous periods there were ready products in amount of 376.4 million manat in warehouses of industrial enterprises.
Spring field activities in the agrarian sector are on the stage of compilation. Till the 1st June sowing of spring plants were carried out in sowing area with 349.9 thousand hectare, as well as, in the sowing area with 27.9 thousand hectare - grain and grain legumes, in the sowing area with 34.6 thousand hectare – maize for grain, in the sowing area with 60.6 thousand hectare – potato, in the sowing area with 75.1 thousand hectare – vegetable, in the sowing area with 18.3 thousand hectare – cotton, in the sowing area with 27.2 thousand hectare – market garden crops, in the sowing area with 4.9 thousand hectare – sugar beet, in the area with 9.9 thousand hectare – sunflower for grain, in the sowing area with 1.3 thousand hectare – tobacco have been planted.
Along with conducting spring field works the agricultural workers had begun to collect the products of their own cultivation. Till the 1st of June 11.6 thousand tons grain and grain legumes, 56.7 thousand tons potato, 86.8 thousand tons vegetable, 9.7 thousand tons fruit and berry, 252 tons green tea leaves were gathered.
From the beginning of the year 178.9 thousand tons live weight meat, 786.1 thousand tons milk, 658.8 million unit egg and 12.9 thousand tons wool were produced and meat production was increased by 2.4% compared to corresponding period of 2014, milk production 4.4%, egg production 3.2%, wool production 2.1%.
Production of plant-growing products increased by 12.2% compared to the corresponding period of 2014, production of live-stock products 3.3% and total products of agriculture 4.1%.
Construction. During January – May, 2015 resources in amount of 6416.3 million manat or more than 3.7% compared to the corresponding period of last year were directed to construction activities. 4151.1 million manat or 64.7% of used allocation was spent to the construction of production facilities. 3791.0 million manat of funds directed to fixed assets was formed domestic funds. Allocations directly spent for the execution of construction-installation works increased by 12.0% compared to the same period of last year and formed 4933.8 million manat.
In 2015 allocations in amount of 5654.7 million manat was allocated from the state budget by the purpose of carrying out construction works in the construction facilities advisable to continue and 1188.2 million manat of that allocation were used during five months of the year.
By the account of funds allocated from different sources during January-May it was completed the construction of dwelling houses with 723.8 thousand square metre, ambulatory-polyclinic institutions which allows serve 180 persons, secondary schools with 4548 pupils place, pre-school institutions with 200 places, club and cultural centres with 280 places. As well as followings were given into use: in Baku city - “White city-1”, “Hazi Aslanov”, “Kurdakhani with 110 kV” and 7 electric power substations with 35 kV, Baku Olympic Stadium, Water Sport Palace, Shooting Centre, Velopark, European Games Park, Athletes and Media villages, Baku Congress Centre, “Boulevard Hotel”, “Dalga Beach-Aqua Park”, family recreation center, bridge connecting Baku ring road highway in the area of the International Bus Station and the road leading to the Shooting Complex, in Sumgayit city - Concrete Plant and “Alyans Tekstil” sewing factory, in Astara region - Degadi-Palikash highway, in Barda region - Mollaisalar-Valiushaghı-Mollaahmadli-Sarkarlar highway, in Gusar region - “Park Chalet Shahdag” hotel and others.
During January-May 88.7 million tons cargo and 735.7 million person passengers were transported by the natural entities and transport enterprises engaged in transport complex. In comparison with the corresponding period of 2014cargo transportation increased by 1.3%, conveyance of passengers 3.7%. Cargo transportation by automobile transport increased by 6.5%, by air transport 15.9% and conveyance of passengers by automobile transport also increased by 3.7%, by metro 3.2%, by air transport 3.0%.
Volume of rendered services to population, office and organization by information and communication enterprises in January-May increased by 10.6% compared to the corresponding period of last year and formed 653.2 million manat.
Consumer goods in amount of 9531.6 million manat were sold from retail trade network and paid services in amount of 2615.6 million manat were rendered by service enterprises. Compared to January-May, 2014 commodity turnover increased by 9.7%, volume of paid services 5.4%; country residents bought food products, beverages and tobacco products in amount of 4777.3 million manat and non-food products in amount of 4754.3 million manat from retail trade network.
According to the data of State Customs Committee during Januar-April, 2015 trade operations in amount of 7673.4 million dollars were conducted with foreign countries by the natural and legal entities of the country. 55.7% or 4270.3 million dollars of commodity turnover was exported goods, 44.3% (3403.1 million dollars) imported goods and positive balance in amount of 867.2 million dollars was established. Volume of foreign trade turnover compared to the same period of 2014 increased by 15.4%, as well as export 12.4%, import 23.4%. 11.2% or 858.2 million dollars of commodity turnover carried out with CIS member countries, 46.4% or 3558.7 million dollars with EU countries, 42.4% (3256.5 million dollars) with other countries.
21.5% or 732.1 million dollars of imported goods was share of CIS member countries, 26.8% or 911.0 million dollars from EU countries, 51.7% (1760.0 million dollars) from other countries.
3.0% or 126.1 million dollars of exported goods was sent to CIS member countries, 62.0% or 2647.7 million dollars to EU countries, 35.0% (1496.5 million dollars) to other countries.
In January-April export of non-oil products compared to the corresponding period of the last year increased by 34.9% and formed 596.5 million dollars.
From non-oil products export of agricultural goods was increased by 25.1% and export of industrial goods 35.4%.
In May compared to April prices and service tariffs of consumer goods decreased by 0.6% as well as, prices of food products 1.5% and prices of non-food products increased by 0.2% and service tariffs 0.1%.
In January-May of the current year prices and service tariffs of consumer goods increased by 3.4% compared to the corresponding period of 2014 as well as, prices of food products 5.2%, prices of non-food products 2.7% and service tariffs 1.4%.
During January-April average monthly salary of employed increased by 3.6% compared to the corresponding period of 2014 and became to 452.3 manat.
During the same period income of country population increased by 5.8% and reached to 16.2 milliard manat. 73.9% of income was spent to final consumption, 9.6% to taxes, social insurance and membership dues and 14.0% to increasing of savings.
According to the data of the Ministry of Finance, in January-April, 2015 state budget received fund in amount of 5.4 milliard manat and means in amount of 6.2 milliard manat were spent from budget, the budget deficit was equal to 4.9 percent of gross domestic product. 3.3 milliard manat of budget expenses was directed to development of economy, 666.7 million manat to social protection and social security and 578.2 million manat to education and health.
Credit in amount of 20.6 milliard manat equivalent was given to natural and legal entities by finance-credit organizations of the country until the 1 May, 2015. The volume of given credits increased by 26.8% compared to 1 May, 2014, its 77.8 % or 16.0 milliard manat was long-term. 1.3 milliard manat or 6.1% of credits payment was expired.
Compared to the same period of previous year amount of deposits of population in banks have been increased by 17.5% and reached to 7.7 milliard manat for the state of 1 May, 2015.
During May exchange rate of national currency for 1 US dollar was equal to 1.05 manat, 1 Euro 1.17 manat and 100 Russian rouble 2.07 manat, since the beginning of the year it was correspondingly was equal to 0.96 manat, 1.07 manat and 1.67 manat.
