Macro-economic indicators of economic and social development of the country during January-October, 2014

Gross Domestic Product (GDP). In amount of 49.2 milliard manat gross domestic products were produced during January-October and compared to the corresponding period of last year it was increased by 2.8% or 1.4 milliard manat with comparative prices. 30.1 milliard manat or 61.1% of GDP were established in the production output fields, 15.6 milliard manat or 31.7% in service fields and 3.5 milliard manat (7.2%) of it was share of net tax to the product and import.
Production of value added in non-oil sector increased by 6.4% compared to the corresponding period of last year and it was decreased by 1.8% in oil sector.
5233.2 manat (6672.5 USD) value added was produced on per capita of population and it was decreased by 1.5%.
Industry. Taking into account the product produced by natural entities engaged in households and industry fields in amount of 27.8 milliard manat product was produced in the industry field created 43.6% of value added and it was decreased by 0.4%.
71.2% of industry product was produced in mining sector, 22.8% - in processing sector, 5.3% - in the sector of production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam and 0.7% - in the sector of water supply, treatment and processing of waste.
35.6 million tons oil and 15.5 milliard cubic meter marketable gas was produced in mining sector.
Production of food products in processing sector increased by 1.9%, production of beverage (10.0%), production of clothing (53.2%), production of textile industry (9.8%), production of chemical products (27.2%), production of construction materials (20.9%), production of finished metal products (11.4%), production of electric equipment (20.3%), production of automobiles and trailers (58.0%), production of other transport means (3.4 times), production of jewelry, music, sport and medical equipment (88.5%), installation and maintenance of machine and equipment (66.0%).
Compared to the last year more than 6.2% or 17.8 milliard kilowatt hour electricity was produced in the sector of production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and water.
Production of industry products were increased by 6.3% in non-oil sector, and decreased by 1.7% in oil sector.
Agriculture. Harvest of products in the agrarian sector is nearing completion. Till the 1st November together with maize 2361.8 thousand tons grain was gathered from arable lands, as well as, 819.3 thousand tons – potato, 1167.9 thousand tons – vegetable, 701.0 thousand tons – fruit and berry, 440.8 thousand tons market garden crops, 137.5 thousand tons – grape, 2.7 thousand tons – tobacco, 82.5 thousand tons – sugar beet, 436.2 tons – green tea leaves and 34.9 thousand tons – cotton.
Production of sunflower increased by 12.1% compared to the corresponding period of last year, production of cotton (10.9%), production of market-garden crops (2.6%) and production of fruit and berry (1.4%), production of grape (0.2%) and production of cereals and leguminous decreased by 19.6%, production of potato (17.4%), production of vegetable (2.0%), production of sugar beet (5.2%), production of tobacco 16.9% and production of tea 20.7%.
During the year 378.3 thousand tons meat in live weight, 1566.1 thousand tons milk, 1299.4 million unit egg and 16.5 thousand tons wool was produced. Production of meat increased by 1.5% compared to the corresponding period of 2013, as well as production of milk 3.8%, egg 12.0%, wool 1.8%.
Thus, total products of agriculture decreased by 3.0% as well as production of plant products 8.1% and production of live-stock products was higher than the level of last year by 3.1%.
745.4 thousand hectare field was ploughed for the crop of next year, in the area with 388.8 thousand hectare seed for grain, as well as, in the area with 220.6 thousand hectare wheat, in the area with 168.2 thousand hectare barley was sowed by rural workers.
Construction. In amount of 13.2 milliard manat or more than 0.6 % investment were directed to the fixed assets from all financial sources to the construction complex. 6.5 milliard manat (49.5%) of allocation was put on by the institutions and organizations of non-state sector, 6.7 milliard manat by state sector. 9.7 milliard manat was directly spent to construction-assembly works and it was formed 73.5% of total allocation. 67.0% or 8.8 milliard manat of used allocation was spent to the construction of production facilities.
9.2 milliard manat or 70.0% of investments directed to the fixed assets was formed by the account of internal investment, 4.0 milliard manat – external investment.
4804.5 million manat of investment from state budget was used to the construction of new constructed and under constructed facilities in 2014 and during the year following production and non-production facilities were put into operation: dwellings with total area 1645.2 thousand square metre, secondary schools with 25350 places for pupils, ambulatory-polyclinic institutions which allows serve 142 persons, hospital with 230 beds, pre-school institutions with 1751places, pre-school institutions with 1092 places, club with 147 places, in Baku city – “Norm” Cement Plant, new shipyard of the State Border Service's Coast Guard, new administrative-academic complex of National Conservatory, a ferry terminal in the frame of first phase of new Baku International Sea Trade Port Complex, new buildings of Central Library of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and “Azerbaijan National Encyclopedia” science center, building of National Institute of Sports Medicine, Diagnostics and Rehabilitation, Surakhany solar power plant, Health Centre, National Gymnastics Arena, multi-level junction with different levels, in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic - Arpachay -2 Hydroelectric Power Station, Water-storage Reservoir and Water Treatment Complex, Youth Centre, in Sumgait city - Azerbaijan Paper and Cardboard Factory, Oil Factory, Copper Processing Plant, in Ganja city Metal Casting and Continuous Rolling, Pressure Processing and Dying Plants, in Shirvan city – bridge over the Kur river, in Agdash region - Food and Fruit Processing Plants, "Aghdash" Electrical substation, in Beylegan region – Chess school, city stadium, First Shahseven-Ahmadli-Dunyamalilar inter-village highway, in Fuzuli region - Garment factory, Ahmadalilar – Mollamaharramli – Arayatli – Babi inter-village highway, in Goy-Gol region - Olympic Sport Complex, Youth Centre, in Imishli region - Bulagli-Bahramtapa part of Hajigabul – Bahramtapa highway, in Gabala region - first stage of “Tufan” Alpine Skiing Summer and Winter Recreation Complex, Hotel Complex “Qafqaz Yengicə Termal Hotel and SPA”, in Lankaran region – Bread Factory, in Shamakhi region - “Shamakhi Palace Platinum By Rixos” hotel and others.
Transport. During ten months 183.1 million tons or more than 1.8% compared to the corresponding period of 2013 cargo was transported by the natural entities engaged in transport enterprises and automobile transport. Conveyance of passengers increased by 5.0% and it was formed 1.5 milliard person.
Information and Communication. From the beginning of the year in amount of 1.3 milliard manat or more than 13.3 % compared to the corresponding period of last year communication service services were rendered to population, enterprises and organization by communication enterprises. Volume of income received from mobile telephone communication service increased by 7.7 % and reached to 761.0 million manat and it was formed 58.1% of total income.
Commodity turnover and paid service. During January-October in amount of 17.5 milliard manat consumer goods were sold to population and it was increased by 9.6%. Volume of paid services increased by 6.6% and reached to 5.4 milliard manat. 8728.5 million manat or 50.0% of goods purchased from consumer market by population was formed food products, 8742.5 million manat non-food products and they were correspondingly increased by 3.3% and 16.1%. In this period e-trade turnover increased by 2.5 times and it was exceeded 5.1 million manat.
Foreign trade. According to the data of State Customs Committee during nine months in amount of 23.9 milliard dollars trade operations were carried out. 72.7% or 17.3 milliard dollars of commodity turnover was formed exported goods and 27.3% (6.6 milliard dollars) – imported goods, in amount of 10.7 milliard dollars positive balance was created.
8.7% of trade operations were carried out with CIS countries, 91.3% - with other countries.
According to the data received from State Oil Company and AIOC on export of crude oil and natural gas foreign trade turnover was formed 31.0 milliard dollars as well as 24.4 milliard dollars export and in amount of 17.8 milliard dollars positive balance was created.
During nine months in amount of 44.6 million US dollars humanitarian and technical aid was received.
Consumer prices and service tariffs. The prices of consumer gods and service tariffs increased by 0.3% in October compared to previous month and during ten months it was increased by 1.6% compared to the corresponding period of last year. Prices of food products at indicated period correspondingly was increased by 0.6% and 1.1%, prices of non-food products and service tariffs remained at the previous month, compared to January-October of the last year it was correspondingly increased by 3.6% and 0.4%.
Income of population. During January–October, 2014 income of population increased by 5.4% and formed 30.4 milliard manat. During this period income on per capita increased by 4.1% and reached to 3229.5 manat or on average monthly 322.9 manat.
Salary/wage. During January-September average monthly salary/wage of employees increased by 5.7% compared to the corresponding period of 2013 and it was became to 441.6 manat.
State budget. In accordance with the data of Ministry of Finance during January-September in amount of 14.1 milliard manat funds were entered to the state budget, in amount of 12.7 milliard manat fund were spent from budget. 43.2% or 5.5 milliard manat of budget expenses were directed to the development of economy, 11.0% or 1.4 milliard manat to education and health, 11.5% or 1.5 milliard manat to social defence and social protection of population.
In amount of 1.4 milliard manat surplus created between income and expenses of budget was created 3.1% in GDP.
Credit. Till the 1st October, 2014 in amount of 17.6 milliard manat credits given to legal and natural entities of the country increased by 19.2%, its 79.4% was long-term credits, 5.5% of its payment was expired.
Deposits of population. According to the data till the 1st of October deposits of population in the banks increased by 11.6% compared to the corresponding period of last year and reached to 7.0 milliard manat. 2.6 milliard manat of deposits were with foreign currency, 4.4 milliard manat with national currency.
Exchange rate of manat. In October monthly rate of exchange of national currency for 1 US dollars was 0.78 manat, 1Euro (1.0 manat), 100 Russian Rouble (1.93 manat). At the beginning of the year correspondingly it was formed 0.78, 1.06 and 2.19manat.
