Production of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) compared to January-August, 2013 increased by 2.4% and formed 39.2 milliard manat. 45.0% of GDP were created in the fields of industry, 11.8% in construction complex and 9.9% in the fields of trade and paid service, 4.9% in transport, 1.7% in information and communication enterprises, 5.1% in agrarian sector and 21.6% in other sectors. On average production of GDP on per capita was 4170.3 manat (5317.3 USD) and it was increased by 1.1% compared to the corresponding period of last year.
57.3% of value added produced in non-oil sector and it was increased by 6.3% compared to January-August of previous year, and decreased by 2.6% in oil-gas sector. 6.3% growth was observed in non-energy sector of economy.
During eight month of 2014 in amount of 22.6 milliard manat or less than 1.2% compared to the corresponding period of previous year industrial products were produced by industrial enterprises and natural entities engaged in this field. 16.3 milliard manat or 72.1% of the product was produced in mining sector; 28.6 million tons oil and it was produced 12.3 milliard cubic metre marketable gas.
In amount of 5.0 milliard manat industrial products were produced in processing sector of industry. Production of food products in this sector increased by 2.4%, production of tobacco products (75.0%), production of clothing (45.7%), production of ready metal products (12.5%), production of construction materials (18.9%), production of electrical equipment (20.8%), production of automobile and trailers (91.1%), production of other transport means (3.5 times), production of furniture (11.5%), production of jewellery, music, sport and medical equipment (78.9%), installation and maintenance of machine and equipment (60.2%). In amount of 3.3milliard manat or more than 6.0% compared to the corresponding period of last year industrial product was produced in non-oil processing industry.
5.3% or 1.2 milliard manat of industrial products were produced in the sector of production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam.14.5 milliard kWh produced electricity increased by 5.8% compared to the level of seven months of previous year.
Production output in the sector of water supply, treatment and processing of waste was increased by 2.9%.
Production output in the sector of non-oil sector of industry increased by 5.4%, and it was decreased by 2.4% in oil-gas sector.
Till the 1st of September in agrarian sector 96.7% or 967.2 thousand hectare of sowing area with winter and spring cereals and legumes were reaped and 2238.3 thousand tons products were taken from that fields. On average the product obtained on per capita was 23.1 centner, as well as, 61.3 thousand tons product was harvested from maize field with 13.3 thousand hectare.
651.9 thousand tons or less than 84.4 thousand compared to the corresponding period of last year tons potato, 980.6 thousand tons (less than 7.9 thousand tons) vegetable and 410.4 thousand tons (more than 12.3 tons) market garden crops, 343.5 thousand tons (more than 3.1 thousand tons) fruit and berry, 37.1 thousand tons (5.2 thousand tons) grape, 316.7 tons (less than 82.6 tons)green tea leaf, 17.0 thousand tons (more than 1.2 thousand tons) sunflower and 1852.4 tons (less than 317 tons tobacco were gathered from the fields.
In this period 294.9 thousand tons or more than 1.5% compared to January-August, 2013 meat in live weight, 1249.0 thousand tons (more than 3.2%) milk, 1017.9 million unit (more than 11.3%) eggs, 15.7 thousand tons (more than 2.2%) wool were produced.
Thus, compared to the last year total products of agriculture were decreased by 3.7%, as well as production of plant products 9.2% and production of live-stock products increased by 2.8%.
In amount of 10445.3 million manat or more than 0.5% compared to the corresponding period of 2013 allocation were used for the implementation of construction works in the country from all financial sources to fixed assets. 7635.5 million manat of allocation directed to fixed assets were used in construction-assembly works and in the comparable period it increased by 11.1%. 67.5% or 7045.5 million manat of fixed assets was spent to the construction of production facilities, 7.3 milliard manat or 70.4% of allocation directed to the fixed assets was formed domestic investments and it was less than 5.4% compared to the level of last year and foreign investment was 17.9% higher.
At the result of construction works carried out in the complex some production and social facilities were given into use. During eight months following production and non-production facilities were put into operation: dwellings with total area 1145.5 thousand square metre, secondary schools with 5680 places for pupils, pre-school institutions with 892 places, hospital with 200 beds, ambulatory-polyclinic institutions which allows serve 90 persons, in Baku city – “Norm” Sement Plant, new shipyard of the State Border Service's Coast Guard, new administrative-academic complex of National Conservatory, new buildings of Central Library of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and “Azerbaijan National Encyclopedia” science center, building of National Institute of Sports Medicine, Diagnostics and Rehabilitation, Surakhany solar power plant, Health Centre, National Gymnastics Arena, in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic - Arpachay -2 Hydroelectric Power Station, Water-storage Reservoir and Water Treatment Complex, Youth Centre, in Sumgait city - Azerbaijan Paper and Cardboard Factory, Oil Factory, Copper Processing Plant, in Ganja city Metal Casting and Continuous Rolling, Pressure Processing and Dying Plants, in Shirvan city – bridge over the Kur river, in Agdash region - Food and Fruit Processing Plants, "Aghdash" Electrical substation, in Beylegan region – Chess school, city stadium, First Shahseven-Ahmadli-Dunyamalilar inter-village highway, in Fuzuli region - Garment factory, Ahmadalilar – Mollamaharramli – Arayatli – Babi inter-village highway, in Goy-Gol region - Olympic Sport Complex, Youth Centre, in Imishli region – Bulagli-Bahramtapa part of Hajigabul – Bahramtapa highway, in Gabala region - first stage of “Tufan” Alpine Skiing Summer and Winter Recreation Complex, in Lankaran region – Bread Factory, in Shamakhi region - “Shamakhi Palace Platinum By Rixos” hotel and others.
In the current year from state budget in amount of 5463.7 million manat allocation was considered for the construction activities in the country and 3544.6 million manat of allocation was used.
During January – August – 147.7 million tons or more than 2.0 % cargo compared to corresponding period of last year and 1169.1 million person passengers or more than 5.0% were conveyed by natural entities engaged in the field of automobile transport and transport enterprises. 9.5% of cargos were transported by railway, 58.0% by automobile transport, 4.4% by sea transport, 28.1% by pipeline and 87.9% of passengers were conveyed by automobile, 11.9% by metropolitan.
During eight months of 2014 in amount of 988.9 million manat services were rendered to population, enterprises and organizations by information and communication enterprises. Volume of information and communication services compared to January-August, 2013 increased by 10.5%, 72.6% of services were rendered to population and 78.6% received income was share of non-state sector.
According to the data of State Customs Committee during January-July in amount of 18.1 milliard dollars trade operations were implemented with 137 foreign countries. 9.2% or 1.7 milliard dollars of trade relations were carried out with CIS member countries, 90.8% or 16.4 milliard dollars with other countries.
During seven months in amount of 13.2 milliard dollars product was exported, 498.3 million dollars of it sent to CIS member countries, 96.2% or 12.7 milliard dollars was share of customers of other foreign countries.
During seven months export of non-oil products was decreased by 3.4%.
In this period volume of imported products to the country was formed 4.9 milliard dollars. Value of imported products from other foreign countries was 3.7 milliard dollars and 1.2 milliard dollars from CIS member countries.
46.0% of foreign trade turnover were carried out with European Union countries, 9.2% with CIS member countries, 44.8% with other foreign countries.
Thus, during seven months volume of goods exported from the country was higher for 2.7 times than the value of goods imported to the country and in amount of 8.3 milliard dollars positive balance was created.
During January-July the country received in amount of 37.1 million dollars humanitarian and technical aids.
Taking into account the data of reports received from AIOC and State Oil Company commodity turnover with foreign countries was formed 24.2 milliard dollars, as well as, export 19.3 milliard dollars and positive balance was 14.4 milliard dollars.
During January-August, 2014 income of population increased by 5.1% compared to corresponding period of last year and reached to 24.0 milliard manat and income on per capita increased by 3.8% and reached to 2559.9 manat (monthly on average 320.0 manat). 70.2% of income was used to final consumption, 9.1% to the payment of taxes, social insurance and membership dues, 18.0 % to the growth of deposits and capitals.
During January-July, 2014 average monthly salary/wage of employees increased by 6.1% compared to the corresponding period of previous year and formed 440.8 manat. Salary/wage of persons engaged in industry, construction, transport and etc. were higher and during January-July average monthly salary/wage of persons engaged in industry was 704.1 manat, salary/wage of persons engaged in construction complex 625.1 manat, salary/wage of persons engaged in transport sector 545.0 manat, in information and communication sector 725.9 manat. Salary/wage in oil sector was formed 1756.0 manat, in non-oil sector 407.5 manat, in state sector 356.0 manat, in private sector 565.7 manat.
During eight months from consumer market in amount of 13.6 milliard manat consumer goods was purchased by population and paid 4.1 milliard manat in exchange for rendered services. Commodity turnover increased by 9.3%, compared to January-August, 2013 as well as, selling of food products 3.5%, selling of non-food products 15.4%, volume of paid services 6.3%. During January-August, 2014 in amount of 1514.0 thousand manat non-food products and 188.5 thousand manat food products was sold to buyers by e-trade turnover.
In August compared with July prices of consumer goods and service tariffs as well as prices of non-food products and service tariffs were not changed, prices of food products decreased by 0.1%. Compared to the corresponding period of 2013 during January-August of the current year prices of consumer goods and service tariffs was increased by 1.4%, as well as prices of food products 0.8%, non-food products 3.6%, service tariffs 0.4%.
During January-July, 2014 income of state budget was 11087.2 million manat and expenses 10313.2 million manat, budget surplus was 774.0 million manat or 2.3 % in the level of GDP. 14.2% of budget income is income tax of legal entities, 16.0% value-added tax, 5.0% income tax of natural entities, 4.2% excise tax, 3.9% taxes on foreign economic activity, 2.6% other taxes and 54.1% of it was provided by the account of non-tax revenues.
4.6 milliard manat (45.0%) of budgetary funds was spent to the development of economy, 1.1 milliard manat (10.8%) to social protection and social security of population, 1.2 milliard manat (11.5%) to education and health care financing.
For the state of 1st August, 2014 volume of used local credits to the country economy was 17.0 milliard manat and it was increased by 20.0% compared to the corresponding period of previous year. 34.7% of credits were implemented by state, 62.4% by private banks, 2.9% non-bank credit organizations. 79.1% of given credits were long-term credits and 5.3% of its payment was expired.
Remainder of deposits of population in banks were 6.9 milliard manat for the state of 1st August, 2014 and it was increased by 15.3% compared to the same period of last year. 4.4 milliard manat or 63.5% of deposits were with national currency, 2.5 milliard manat – with foreign currency and it was correspondingly increased by 22.0% and 5.3% compared to last year.
During August 1 US dollars was equal to 0.78 manat, 1Euro – 1.04 manat, 100 Russian roubles – 2.17 manat. In January-August correspondingly it was 0.78, 1.07 and 2.24 manat.
From the beginning of the year country population size increased by 63.3 thousand person or 0.7% and for the state of 1st August, 2014 it reached to 9540.4 thousand person.
