Macro-economic indicators of economic and social development of the country during January-September, 2013

Gross Domestic Product (GDP). During January-September, 2013 more than 5.4% or by actual prices in amount of 42.7 milliard manat compared to corresponding period of last year (GDP) was produced. Production of GDP on per capita was formed 4606.7 manat (5871.4 US dollars). In this period in amount of 19.9 milliard manat or 46.5% of GDP value added was created in industry, 2.5 milliard manat (5.8%) – in agriculture, 4.8 milliard manat or (11.3%) – in construction complex, 2.4 milliard manat (5.6%) – in transport, 4.0 milliard manat (9.3%) – in trade and paid services, 725.1 million manat (1.7%) – in communication, 5.7 milliard manat or 13.3% - in other fields. 6.5 % or 2.8 milliard manat of it was formed net of tax to the product and import excluding allowances.
Production of GDP in non-oil sector increased by 10.4% and it was remained at the level of the previous year in oil sector.
Industry. During the year in amount of 25.3 milliard manat or 0.9% more than the same period of 2012 industrial products were produced. 32.5 million ton oil output and 13.1 milliard cubic metre marketable gas output were formed in the mining sector of industry. Production of food products in processing sector increased by 4.6% compared to the corresponding period of last year, production of beverage – 9.7%, leather and leather products, production of shoes – 35.1%, polygraphy activity – 54.8%, production of oil products – 6.2%, production of chemical products – 18.6%, production of pharmaceutical products – 19.4%, production of construction materials –20.4%, production of electric equipments – 4.3%, production of machinery and equipment 5.3 %, production of automobiles and trailers – 41.1%, production of other transport means - 2.3 times, production of jewelry, music, sports and medical equipments - 6.1%, maintenance and installation of machine and equipments – 30.0%.
Production of electricity in the sector of production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam decreased by 1.2% and became 15.2 milliard kilowatt hours.
Production output in the sector of water supply, treatment and processing of waste was increased by 10.8%.
Production output in the non-oil sector of industry increased by 2.9% and 0.4% - in oil sector.
Agriculture. Harvesting of agricultural products is continued. For the state of 1st October 2897.6 thousand tons products including maize were harvested from the field of cereals. On average productivity of per hectare increased by 0.3 centners and became 27.3 centners.
For the state of 1st October 983.8 thousand tons potato, 1137.8 thousand tons vegetable, 530.1 thousand tons fruit and berry, 427.4 thousand tons market garden crops, 104.3 thousand tons grape, 6.8 thousand tons cotton, 475.5 tons green tea leaf, 2667.0 tons tobacco. 34.6 thousand tons sugar beet, 17.7 thousand tons sunflower for seed were gathered.
Production of cereals increased by 4.9% compared to the corresponding period of last year, production of potato – 3.8%, vegetable – 0.1%, fruit and berry – 2.6%, market garden crops – 0.7%, grape – 5.0%.
Head number of cattle was reached to 2728.7 thousand head, head number of sheep and goat – 8770.9 thousand head, during this period 358.1 thousand ton live weight meat, 1385.5 thousand tons milk, 1043.4 million unit egg, 16.3 thousand tons wool was produced. Production of meat increased by 3.8% compared to January-September of 2012, production of milk – 6.6%, production of egg – 15.1%, wool – 2.8%.
Thus, production of plant products increased by 4.3% compared to last year, production of live-stock products – 5.5%, total product of agriculture – 4.9%.
541.9 thousand hectare field was ploughed for the crop of next year and seed for winter crops was sowed in the area with 39.2 thousand hectare by rural workers.
Capital construction. During nine months from all financial sources in amount of 11.8 milliard manat funds were directed to the fixed assets, its 8.4 milliard manat or 71.5 % was provided to the account of internal sources and its 3.4 milliard manat was formed investments allocated from foreign sources.
During the year following production and non-production facilities were put into operation: dwellings with total area 1478.0 thousand square metre, secondary schools with 24880 places for pupils, ambulatory-polyclinic institutions which allows serve 130 persons, hospital with 526 beds, pre-school institutions with 997places, club with 864 places, in Baku city - Production Union on “Ship Repair and Ship Building”, Hangar Complex and International Logistics Centre in the International Airport named by Heydar Aliyev, Gas Turbine Thermal Power Plant, Training-Surgery Clinic of Azerbaijan Medical University, “Fairmont Baku” hotel at Flame Towers complex, “Victory Square” project of a multi-level tunnel-type road junction, in Nakhchivan AR - Arpachay Hydro-electric Power Station, in Sumgait city - “Textile Park “Gilan”, in Shirvan city – “South” Thermal Power Plant, Olympic Sport Complex and Shirvan-Mugan group water pipe, in Absheron region - “Milla” Dairy Products and Ice-cream Production Factory, Disposable plastic containers and Preforming Manufacturing, in Agstafa region - paintball and shooting center, in Astara region – Box Centre, in Gazakh region – Cement Plant, in Guba region – National Golf Club, Youth Center, “Rixos” hotel, in Yevlakh region - Airport, Central Hospital, in Gadabay region - New Gold Processing Plant, in Gabala region - Grape Processing Factory, dairy and livestock breeding complex, Agro-Industrial Complex, "Caucasian Caravanserai" hotel complex, in Hajigabul region - Ceramic Tiles Production Plant, in Khacmaz, Gakh and Saatly regions – Olympic Sport Complexes, in Siyazan region – Youth Center, in Tovuz region - Hemodialysis Center, in Shabran region - Valvalachay-Takhtakorpu Channel, Takhtakorpu Reservoir, Takhtakorpu Hydro-electric Power Station, in Shamkir region - "Zeka" Intellectual Youth Centre, “Excelsior Hotel Shamkir”, in Ismayilli region - Garment Factory, “Ismayilli – 1” Hydro-electric Power Station, , in Balaken region - Cooling Warehouse Complex, in Agjabadi region - “Agat-Agro cattle breeding complex, Central Hospital, Youth Centre, in Sabirabad region – Bridge Over Kur River, Greenhouse Complex and others.
In the current year from state budget in amount of 7.2 milliard manat allocation was considered for the construction activities in the country and 5.5 milliard manat of allocation was used.
Transport. 161.6 million tons or more than 2.8 % cargo compared to corresponding period of last year and 1.3 milliard person passengers or more than 7.8% were conveyed by natural entities engaged in the field of automobile transport and transport enterprises during January – September. Cargo transportation by automobile transport increased by 6.0%, by railway – 0.1%, by air transport – 87.2% and conveyance of passengers by automobile – 8.1%, by metro – 6.1%.
Communication. By factual prices in amount of 1.1 milliard manat or more than 7.1% compared to last year communication services were rendered to population, enterprises and organization by communication enterprises. 72.3% of services were directly services to population, income received from mobile telephone services increased by 9.6% and reached to 659.8 million manat and it was formed 59.2 % of all income.
Income of population. During January-September, 2013 income of population on per capita increased by 6.2% compared to corresponding period of last year and reached to 2736.5 manat. 68.5% of earned income was used to final consumption, 9.1% - to the payment of taxes, social insurance and membership dues, 20.7 % to the growth of deposits and capitals. After payment of taxes and membership dues on average 2487.1 manat remained in per capita disposal and it was increased by 6.1% in the comparable period.
Salary/Wage. During January-August average monthly salary/wage of employees increased by 6.8% compared to January-August, 2012 and reached to 413.8 manat.
Commodity turnover and paid service. During the year in amount of 13.9 milliard manat consumer goods were sold and in amount of 4.5 milliard manat paid services were rendered to population. Retail commodity turnover increased by 9.6%, volume of paid services – 7.2%.
Foreign trade. According to the data of State Customs Committee during January-August, 2013 in amount of 23.1 milliard dollars trade operations were carried out with 144 countries of the world, its 88.8 % or 20.5 milliard dollars were carried out with far foreign countries, 2.6 milliard dollars with CIS member countries.
During eight months of the year in amount of 16.0 milliard dollars goods was exported, 94.5% or 15.1 milliard dollars of it were sent to far foreign countries, 0.9 milliard dollars or 5.5% to CIS member countries.
Value of imported products was 7.1 milliard dollars, as well as, volume of imported goods from far foreign countries – 5.4 milliard dollars, import from CIS member countries – 1.7 milliard dollars.
During eight months in amount of 8.8 milliard dollars as well as 9.7 milliard dollars positive balance was created with far foreign countries and in amount of 852.4 million dollars negative balance was created with CIS member countries.
Taking into account data received from State Oil Company and AIOC on export of crude oil and gas foreign trade turnover was formed 29.1 milliard dollars (as well as 22.0 milliard dollars export) and in amount of 14.9 milliard dollars positive balance was created.
During January-August in amount of 16.1 million dollars humanitarian and technical aid was received.
Consumer prices and service tariffs. The prices of consumer gods and service tariffs increased by 0.1% in September compared to August, as well as, prices of food products – 0.1%, prices of non-food products – 0.2% and service tariffs remained at the level of the previous month. During the year prices and tariffs increased by 2.3% compared to January-September, 2012, as well as, prices of food products – 2.2%, prices of non-food products – 0.5%, service tariffs – 3.4%.
State budget. In accordance with the data of Ministry of Finance during January-August in amount of 12.9 milliard manat funds were entered to the state budget, in amount of 11.6 milliard manat fund were spent from budget, in amount of 1266.9 million manat or as 3.4% of GDP surplus was created. 5.3 milliard manat or 45.6% of budget funds were directed to the development of economy, 1.2 milliard manat or (10.1%) to education and health, 1.2 milliard manat or (10.2%) to social defense and social protection of population.
Deposits. For the state of 1st September, 2013 the amount of deposits of population in banks reached to 6.1 milliard manat and it was increased by 36.5% compared to the corresponding period of 2012. Deposits with national currency were 3.7 milliard manat, amount of deposits with foreign currency – 2.4 milliard manat.
Credit. In amount of 14.5 milliard manat or more than 30.7% credits were directed to the country economy compared to January- August of last year. 11.1 milliard manat of given credits were long-term credits, 3.4 milliard manat – short-term credits and 5.3 % or 764.8 million manat of its payment was expired.
Exchange rate of manat. In September monthly rate of exchange of national currency for 1 US dollars was 0.78 manat, 1Euro – 1.05 manat, 100 Russian Rouble – 2.41 manat. At the beginning of the year correspondingly it was formed 0.78, 1.03 and 2.48 manat.
