International Comparison of the dynamics of GDP during 2001-2011
During 2001-2011 Azerbaijan became the fastest developing country among CIS, EU-27, OECD countries, as well as, China, Brazil, Republic of South Africa and India regarding to the data published on growth rate of GDP in 518 edition of the bulletin «Статистика СНГ» “Statistics of CIS” published in November, 2012 by the Interstate Statistics Committee of the CIS.
During these years volume of GDP of the country increased by 13.5% every year on average with comparative prices and it was exceeded 4 times the level of 2000. GDP of China increased about 3 times become the second in the published rating and Kazakhstan the third - 2.4 times. In these countries average annual growth of GDP correspondingly was 10.4 and 8.2%. Thus, in the above mentioned rating Azerbaijan passed ahead its close neighbor China according to the average annual growth of GDP by 3.1%.
During this period the highest increase among the member countries to EU was observed in Slovakia (65.0%) and among the member countries to OECD in Turkey (59.2%).
GDP in CIS countries on average increased by 76.0% in 2011 compared to 2000, 17.0% in EU, in the member countries to OECD – 19.0%, and in BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South African Republic) – 2.9%.
