Macro-economic indicators of economic and social development of the country in the first quarter of 2012

Macroeconomic indicators reflecting development of economic and social sphere slightly increased in the first quarter of 2012, income and salary/wage of the well-being of population increased, inflation stayed in a minimum level.
Production of gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 0.5% and reached to 12.3 milliard manat, 7.5 milliard manat or 61.3 % of value added was produced in industry, 599.2 million manat (4.9%) in construction, 553.9 million manat (4.5%) in transport, 294.9 million manat (2.4%) in agriculture, 973.3 million manat (7.9%) in trade and in the field of paid services, 194.4 million manat (1.6%) in communication, 1332.8 million manat (10.9%) in other sphere, 802.4 million manat or 6.5% formed taxes to products and import.
Production of GDP on average for per capita was equal to 1346.1 manat or 1711.9 US dollars.
Production of GDP in non-oil sector increased by 7.7% and in oil sector it is decreased by 4.7 %.
Taking into account the works of natural entities without establishing of legal entity in amount of 9.4 milliard manat products were produced in the industry field created more than half of the value added and it is decreased by 0.3% compared to the first quarter of 2011.
Output production in the sector of non-oil of industry increased by 16.5% and made up 17.1% of industry product but output production in the oil sector decreased by 3.5%.
7.3 milliard manat or 78.3 % industry products were produced in mining sector, 1.5 milliard manat or 15.9 % in processing sector, 493.4 million manat or 5.3% in electricity, gas and steam production, supply and distribution sector, 44.0 million manat or 0.5% in water supply, waste management and processing sector.
Production output in the mining sector decreased by 3.6% compared to previous year, in the first quarter in amount of 11.3 million ton marketable oil and 4.6 milliard cubic meters marketable gas was produced.
Production output in the processing sector increased by 21.9%, output of food products - 1.5%, output of weaving industry products - 67.7%, polygraphy activity - 6.5%, output of chemistry industry products - 1.6%, output of rubber and plastic materials - 2.9 times, output of construction materials - 9.4%, output of ready metal products - 2.0 times, output of computer and other electron equipments - 37.0 times, output of electric equipments - 4.9 times, output of machine and equipments - 2.2%, output of other transport means - 18.1%, output of furniture - 3.4 times, installation and maintenance of machine and its equipments - 2.1 times.
Output of industry product increased by 10.4% in the sector of electricity, gas and steam production, supply and distribution, 6.2 milliard kWh or more than 15.2% electricity is produced.
Output production is increased by 7.1% in water supply, waste management and processing sector.
In the agrarian sector the works on spring-field is carrying out rapidly and till the 1st of April sowing spring crops have been carried out in the 104.6 thousand hectare sowing area. During this period in the sowing area with 9.1 thousand hectare have been planted grain and grain legumes, maize for grain - in the area with 1.5 thousand hectare, potato - in the area with 29.0 thousand hectare, vegetable - in the area with 23.2 thousand hectare, cotton - in the area with 123 hectare, market garden crops - in the area with 2.5 thousand hectare, sunflower for grain - in the area with 1.3 thousand hectare, sugar-beet - in the area with 1.1 thousand hectare, perennial herbs - in the area with 36.0 thousand hectare.
Within the increasing of head number of live-stock in the sector of cattle-breeding also production of cattle-breeding products is increasing dynamically. In the first quarter compared to the corresponding period of last year head number of cattle is increased by 1.8% and reached to 2697.9 thousand and number of sheep and goat increased by 1.7% and reached to 8785.7 thousand head. During this period production of meat in live weight increased by 2.5% and become 102.0 thousand tons, production of milk increased by 2.9% become 374.3 thousand tons , production of egg increase by 10.7% become285.8 million units.
From the beginning of the year about 9.6 thousand tons or 13.6 % more than last year vegetable is gathered from the fields.
So, total harvest of agriculture compared to the first quarter of last year increased by 3.2%, as well as, production of plant-growing products - 6.4%, production of cattle-breeding products - 3.2%.
For the implementation of construction works in the country from all financial sources in amount of 2099.4 million manat or 16.5 % more than corresponding period of previous year funds were directed to the fixed assets. 989.7 million manat or 47.1% of fund is used in the construction of facilities on production output. Volume of investment spent to the building and assembly jobs increased by 4.2% and made up 1103.7 million manat. 72.8 % of funds directed to the fixed assets are formed to the account of internal investment, 27.2% - foreign investment.
From the beginning of the year with total area of 331.0 thousand square metre dwellings as well as hospital with 15 beds, club with 140 places, Aluminum plant complex in Ganja city, Chess school in Goranboy region, Central hospital and Chess centre in Gusar region, Refrigerator warehouse and green house complexes in Masalli region, Olympic Sport Complex, Kijebe-Ojakeran and Kijebe-Gajimarde automobile roads in Astara region were put into operation.
Taking into account the works of natural entities engaged in the field of motor transport 47.8 million tons cargo and 361.4 million person passengers were transported by the transport means, compared to corresponding period of last year cargo transportation increased by 4.3%, passenger conveyance - 8.9%.
During January-February 9.3 million tons cargo was transported by the International Eurasian Corridor. Transport enterprises working in this field from the cargo transportation and passenger conveyance is received income in amount of 85.0 million manat.
In amount of 289.8 million manat or 8.0% more than first quarter of 2011 services was rendered to population, institutions and organizations by the information and communication institutions. Volume of carried out works in non-governmental increased by 2.1%.
From trade network during January-March in amount of 4.1 milliard manat consumption goods were sold to population and retail commodity turnover increased by 9.3%. 59.8% of consumption goods realized to population were food products, 40.2% - non-food products and their sale volume correspondingly increased by 4.3 and 18.6 %.
During three months 9.4% more than corresponding period of last year or in amount of 1.3 milliard manat paid services were rendered to population, institutions and organizations by the natural persons.
In the first quarter of 2012 income of each resident of the country increased by 12.3% and made up 792.1 manat. 66.4% of income was spent to final consumption, 9.3 % to taxes, social insurance and volunteer membership dues, 22.1 - to the increasing of deposits and capitals.
Average monthly wage/salary of employees during January-February increased by 8.5% and reached to 368.5 manat. Salary/wage of persons engaged in industry field was 540.3 manat, in construction complex - 532.0 manat, in transport- 452.8 manat.
According to the data received from State Customs Committee during first two months of 2012 foreign trade turnover of country was 5382.4 million US dollars and it is decreased by 2.5% with comparable prices compared to corresponding period of last year.
90.6% or 4874.2 million dollars of commodity exchange was carried out with far foreign countries and it is increased by 4.9 % with comparable prices, during two months in amount of 508.2 million dollars or with comparable prices less than 34.6% trade operations were carried out with CIS countries.
4048.9 million dollars or 75.2 % of commodity turnover was exported products and it is decreased by 2.3% with constant prices compared to January-February of last year. 95.9% or 3884.0 million dollars of exported goods were sent to far foreign countries, 164.9 million dollars - CIS countries and correspondingly increased by 4.5% and decreased by 60.0%.
Value of imported goods with comparable prices compared to corresponding period of last year decreased by 3.1% and made up 1333.5 million dollars. Volume of imported goods from far foreign countries increased by 6.1% but decreased by 22.5% from CIS member countries and correspondingly it was 990.2 million dollars and 343.3 million dollars.
Also taking into account the data of reports received from AIOC and State Oil Company commodity turnover with foreign countries was 7406.1 million dollars, as well as, export 6072.6 million dollars, import 1333.5 million dollars.
During two months in amount of 2715.4 million dollars and taking into account additions in amount of 4739.1 million dollars positive balance was created.
During January-February Country received in amount of 6.6 million dollars humanitarian and technical aids.
In March Prices and service tariffs of consumer goodsincreased by 0.3% compared to previous month, as well as the prices of food products - 0.7%, prices of non-food products decreased by 0.1% but service tariffs stayed as in the level of last month.
Prices of consumer goods and service tariffs increased by 3.1% compared to the first quarter of 2011, as well as, prices of food products - 3.9%, non0food products - 1.3%, service tariffs - 2.5%.
According to the data of Ministry of Finance in January-February in amount of 2475.0 million manat fund were received by the state budget and in amount of 1286.7 million manat fund was spent. In amount of 118833 million manat surplus created between income and expenses of budget made up 14.9 % of GDP.
287.7 million manat or 21.7% of expenses of budget were directed to the development of economy, 343.6 million manat (26.7 % ) - social defense and social security, 174.3 million manat (13.5 %) - education and health.
Sum of deposits put by the population increased by 37.8% compared to corresponding period of last year and till the 1st of March it"™s made up 4.3 milliard manat. Deposits with national currency increased by 62.8%, with foreign currency 15.4% and accordingly become 2.4 milliard and 1.9 milliard manat.
Sum of given credits increased by 21.9 % compared to two months of 2011 and made up 10.2 milliard manat. 70.0 % of credits were long-term, 6.4 % payment is expired.
In February 1 US dollar was 0.79 manat, 1 Euro - 1.04 manat, 100 Russian roubles - 2.68 manat, but in January-March it was equal to 0.79, 1.03, and 2.61 manat.
