At the moment there are 25 maternity hospitals, 214 maternity welfare clinics, 258 children's polyclinics and ambulatory in the country and life expectancy between women is 5.3 years more than men and it is equal to 76.2 years.
? ? ? ? ?Specific weight of women taking active part in the social-economical life of Azerbaijan in total number of employed population is 48.5%. 76.0% of teachers in general education institutions are women, 73.0% - secondary specialized educational institutions, 63.0% of doctors are women. 46.0% of pupils in general education institutions, 66.0% of pupils in secondary specialized educational institutions, 47.0% of students studying in high schools are girls.
? ? ? ? ?There is also an important role of women in the development of science. 35.1% of doctoral candidates, 55.3% of all scientists are formed women. In the last 5 year number of women with the degree of doctor of science increased by 31.7% and number of women with the degree of doctor of philosophy - 14.0%. 11 of correspondent members of Azerbaijan National Academy and 3 of academicians are women.

? ? ? ? ?Number of deputy woman in Milli Majlis is also increased. If the 4.3 % of all deputies formed women in 1990, 10.7% in 2000, today special weight of women in Parliament reached to 16.0%. In the last election of Municipality number of women elected as a member of municipality increased by 5 times compared to previous elections reached to 4194 persons and between the municipality members their special weight was 26.1%. This indicator was 4.0% in previous municipality elections.
? ? ? ? ?One of the most interesting factors is the increasing of number of women driving cars year by year. So in 2005 their number was 2285 persons and in 2011 it is reached to 6445 persons.
