In 2023 legal and natural entities of the Republic of Azerbaijan realized trade operations with their partners in 193 countries of the world, goods were exported to 121 countries and imported from 184 countries.

Taking into account value of statistically estimated exported crude oil and natural gas registered in the customs agencies but customs formalities of which not completed the foreign trade turnover of the country in 2023 made 44868,5 million USD. 27583,2 million USD or 61,5% of trade turnover made the export value, 17285,3 million USD (38,5%) – import value and consequently positive trade balance reached to 10297,9 million USD. In comparison with 2022, foreign trade turnover decreased in actual prices by 20.2%, while in real terms it decreased by 5.6%. Import in real terms increased by 1.9%, while export decreased by 8.2%.

In 2023 the export of non-oil gas products, compared to the previous year, increased by 9,8% in actual prices and 3,9% in real terms and made 3348,0 million USD.

According to the State Customs Committee data, 30,6% of foreign trade turnover of the country was per the share of trade operations with Italy, 14,9% – Türkiye, 8,5% – Russia, 6,1% – China, 3,6% – Germany, per 2,8% - Israel and India, 2,7% - Greece, 1,8% - USA, per 1,7% - Spain and Georgia, per 1,5% – United Kingdom, Turkmenistan and Czech Republic, 1,3% - Romania, 1,2% – Croatia, per 1,0% - France, Bulgaria and Iran, per 0,9% - Vietnam and Japan, 11,0% – other countries.
