In 2023, 1636 or 1,9% less traffic accidents occurred compared to 2022, the number of victims of these events decreased by 2,7% to 2229 persons. 862 of suffered persons died and 1367 of them were injured. 42,5% of accidents happened in the daytime, 38,9% - at night time, 18,6% - during twilight, 31,5% of accidents occurred on Saturdays and Sundays.

87,1% of traffic accidents happened in settlements; number of persons died as a result of these accidents increased by 8,2% and made 636 persons, number of injured persons decreased by 2,3% and made 1299 persons.

39,7% of all traffic accidents happened with participation of transport means and pedestrians, 38,2% - several transport means, 22,1% - one mode of transport. 75,4% of persons died and 72,3% of injured as a result of traffic accidents were men.

22 accidents occurred because of drunk driving and caused death or injury, where 6 persons died, 29 persons injured. 17 of such accidents have been committed by drivers of motor-cars.
