An event dedicated to September 27 – Remembrance Day held at the State Statistical Committee

On September 25, an event dedicated to Remembrance Day was held at the State Statistical Committee.

The event started with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. A minute of silence was observed in honored memory of the martyrs who gave their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.

In his speech, Azer Mursagulov, Chairman of the State Statistical Committee, stated that under the resolute political will and leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the Victorious Commander-in-Chief, the territorial integrity of our country was restored, and full state sovereignty was secured in September 2023.

The Chairman noted that the cherished memory of the martyrs is always honored with deep respect, and the contributions of war veterans are held in the highest regard. He stated that 25 employees of the Committee participated in the First Garabagh war, and 18 employees are veterans of the 44-day Patriotic War.

Azer Mursagulov also spoke about the large-scale restoration and reconstruction work being carried out the liberated territories, as well as the implementation of the “First State Program on the Great Return to the Territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan Liberated from Occupation”. He stated that fully reflecting the socio-economic development of the region in official statistical indicators is one of the important tasks of the Committee.

Rashad Aslanov, Reserve Colonel of the Ministry of Defense, a veteran of the Patriotic War and recipient of the “Garabagh” Order, also addressed the event. He spoke about his combat path as a commander of a special forces military unit.

Rashad Aslanov highlighted the strength that the moral support of the Azerbaijani people gave them during the most difficult days of the fighting and the role of this support in maintaining high fighting spirit. He also commemorated the selflessness of his comrades-in-arms and emphasized the importance of properly conveying the realities of the Patriotic War to future generations.

At the end of the event, a video dedicated to the memory of the martyrs was screened.
