Number of foreigners and stateless persons who arrived to the Republic of Azerbaijan and citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who travelled to foreign countries in January-July 2026

According to the State Border Service data, in January-July 2026 the Republic of Azerbaijan received 1342,6 thousand or 9,2 percent less foreigners and stateless persons from 191 countries of the world compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. 28,3% of the arrivals were from the Russian Federation,  20,0% – Türkiye, 7,9% – Iran, 4,7% – Georgia, 4,6% – Kazakhstan, 3,2% each from Uzbekistan and Pakistan, 3,1% - Israel, 2,6% – India, 2,5% – China, 2,3% – Saudi Arabia, 1,6% – Ukraine, 1,3% - Turkmenistan,   1,1% - Germany, 1,0% - Great Britain and 12,6% – were citizens of other countries and stateless persons. 67,4% of the arrivals were men and 32,6% were women.

In January-July 2026 compared to January-July 2025, the number of arrivals from EU member countries increased by 8,0 percent and amounted to 65,9 thousand persons, from the CIS countries it increased by 1,6% and amounted to 531,3 thousand persons, from Gulf countries decreased by 32,8 percent and amounted to 159,5 thousand persons and arrivals from other countries decreased by 10,8%, reaching 585,9 thousand persons.

72,4% of foreigners and stateless persons arriving in our country used air transport, 26,2% - railway and car, and 1,4% - sea transport.

In January-July 2026 compared to January-July 2025, the total number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who travelled to foreign countries decreased by 2,4% and amounted to 1160,1 thousand persons. 42,7% of our citizens travelled to Türkiye (2,7% more compared to the same period of the previous year), 15,9% - Russian Federation (1,3% less), 12,4% - Georgia (8,0% more), 5,8% - Iran (36,3% less), 23,2% to other countries (4,1% less). 65,1% of the travellers were men and 34,9% were women.

In January-July 2026, 70,4% of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who travelled to foreign countries used air transport, 27,6% railway and car, and 2,0% - sea transport.
