Students now conduct tourism surveys at Baku Railway Station
The State Statistical Committee has expanded the coverage of sample statistical surveys on tourism.
Students of various higher educational institutions, together with the specialists of the Committee, are now conducting inbound and outbound tourism surveys at Baku Railway Station, along with those conducted at Heydar Aliyev International Airport.
The surveys conducted at the railway station make it possible to study the trips of passengers using rail transport. Respondents are asked about the purpose and duration of their trip, the types of accommodation they use, their expenditures, and other information required for the compilation of tourism statistics.
Conducting surveys at the new location contributes to a more comprehensive assessment of tourism flows by different modes of transport and to the compilation of relevant statistical indicators.
Before being involved in this work, the students received relevant training. Their participation in the surveys enables them to gain practical experience, develop their communication skills with respondents, and become more familiar with the process of producing official statistics.
The collected data are used solely for statistical purposes, while the confidentiality of individual data is protected in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.
