Progress of the grain harvesting
The 2026 grain harvest is nearing completion: 3 131,9 thousand tons of crops have been harvested
According to operational data for August 3, 2026, harvesting has been completed on 925,1 thousand hectares, i.e. 93,0% of the 994,9 thousand hectares planned for harvesting of autumn and spring cereals and leguminous crops (excluding maize). A total of 3 131,9 thousand tons of crops have been harvested, with an average yield of 33,9 centners per hectare. 1 534,8 thousand tons (49.0%) of the harvested products accounted for wheat, 1 561,2 thousand tons (49,9%) for barley, and 35,9 thousand tons (1,1%) for other cereals and leguminous crops.
Compared to the corresponding date of the last year (August 5, 2025), total crop production harvested is 6,2% higher, including 15,9% for barley, while wheat harvesting is 2,1% lower. The relatively lower volume of wheat harvested is explained by the smaller harvested area as of this date (420,7 thousand hectares) compared to the last year (466,9 thousand hectares in 2025), while the yield per hectare increased from 33,6 to 36,5 centners. Harvesting has been fully completed in 13 cities and districts, while in another 30 districts, more than 90% of the planned area has been harvested.
