Activities of hotels and similar establishments in January-June 2026

The number of nights spent in hotels and similar establishments in January-June 2026 decreased by 8,3% compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 1 807,9 thousand. 58,8% of the total nights spent were registered in Baku, 5,9% in Gusar, 5,5% in Naftalan, 3,4% in Gabala, 3,1% in Guba, 3,0% in Lankaran, 2,1% in Khachmaz, 1,9% in Ganja, 1,8% in Shusha, 1,5% in Shamakhi, 1,2% in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, 1,1% in Shabran, 1,1% Masalli and 9,6% in the hotels and similar establishments of other districts and cities.

The number of nights spent by foreigners and stateless persons in January-June 2026 decreased by 10,3% compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 1 069,8 thousand, representing 59,2% of total nights. 14,1% of the total nights were spent by the citizens of Türkiye, 13,0% - the Russian Federation, 7,1% - India, 6,9% - Israel, 4,6% - Saudi Arabia, 4,6% - China, 4,1% - Kazakhstan, 3,9% - Uzbekistan, 3,8% - Pakistan, 2,4% - the United Arab Emirates, 2,3% - Great Britain, 2,3% - the USA, 1,7% - Germany, 1,3% - Kuwait, 1,1% - Italy, 1,0% - Georgia, 0,8% - Iran, 0,7% - the Republic of Korea, 0,7% - Ukraine, 23,6% - citizens and stateless persons of other countries.

81,9% of the nights spent by foreigners and stateless persons were registered in Baku city, 5,6% in Gusar, 5,6% in Naftalan, 2,1% in Gabala, 1,0% in Guba and 3,8% in the hotels and similar establishments of other districts and cities.  

The number of nights spent in hotels and similar establishments by the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan made 738,1 thousand, representing 40,8% of total nights.

In January-June 2026, hotels and similar establishments’ revenues decreased by 3,8% compared with January-June 2025 and amounted to 279,0 million manats, 61,1% of which were from services for the provision of rooms, 26,7% catering services, 3,2% treatment and health services and 9,0% other services.

In January-June 2026, one-time use of rooms in hotels and similar establishments was 19,3% (21,4% in January-June 2025). This indicator was 41,7% in Naftalan, 34,1% in Shabran, 30,8% in Neftchala, 29,6% in Sabirabad, 29,4% in Baku, 26,7% in Gusar, 19,2% in Barda, 18,7% in Lankaran, 18,5% in Salyan, 18,4% in Beylagan, 17,6% in Lachin, 17,0% in Shamakhi, 15,8% in Gabala, while in other cities and regions, it was below 15,0%.
