Number of foreigners and stateless persons who arrived to the Republic of Azerbaijan and citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who travelled to foreign countries in January-June 2026
According to the State Border Service data, in January-June 2026 the Republic of Azerbaijan received 1092,6 thousand or 10,3 percent less foreigners and stateless persons from 189 countries of the world compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. 28,1% of the arrivals were from the Russian Federation, 21,0% – Türkiye, 8,2% – Iran, 4,9% – Georgia, 4,6% – Kazakhstan, 3,2% - Uzbekistan, 2,9% – Pakistan, 2,8% – India, 2,6% - Israel, 2,4% – China, 1,8% – Saudi Arabia, 1,6% – Ukraine, 1,3% - Turkmenistan, 1,1% each from Germany and Great Britain and 12,4% – were citizens of other countries and stateless persons. 68,7% of the arrivals were men and 31,3% were women.
In January-June 2026 compared to January-June 2025, the number of arrivals from EU member countries increased by 9,3 percent and amounted to 54,4 thousand persons, from the CIS countries it increased by 1,8% and amounted to 430,4 thousand persons, from Gulf countries decreased by 31,4 percent and amounted to 127,7 thousand persons and arrivals from other countries decreased by 14,1%, reaching 480,1 thousand persons.
71,1% of foreigners and stateless persons arriving in our country used air transport, 27,5% - railway and car, and 1,4% - sea transport.
In January-June 2026 compared to January-June 2025, the total number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who travelled to foreign countries decreased by 5,1% and amounted to 937,4 thousand persons. 41,5% of our citizens travelled to Türkiye (3,5% more compared to the same period of the previous year), 17,1% - Russian Federation (3,0% less), 11,7% - Georgia (0,2% more), 6,2% - Iran (41,0% less), 23,5% to other countries (7,7% less). 66,5% of the travellers were men and 33,5% were women.
In January-June 2026, 69,8% of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who travelled to foreign countries used air transport, 28,1% railway and car, and 2,1% - sea transport.
