Number of employees and salaries in the country

As of July 1, 2026, the number of employees in the country amounted to 1787,4 thsd. persons, of whom 844,6 thsd. persons were engaged in the public sector and 942,8 thsd. persons in the non-public sector.

18,8 percent of employees were engaged in trade; repair of transport means, 17,8 percent in education, 13,9 percent in industry, 8,6 percent in human health and social work activities, 6,7 percent in construction, 6,1 percent in public administration and defense; social security, 4,4 percent in transportation and storage, 3,9 percent in professional, scientific and technical activities, 2,4 percent in financial and insurance activities, 2,3 percent in agriculture, forestry and fishing and 15,1 percent in other fields of economy.

In January-June 2026, average monthly nominal salary of employees in the country increased by 7,0 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 1174,4 manats.
