Number of employees and salaries in the country

As of June 1, 2026, the number of employees in the country amounted to 1790,6 thsd. persons, of whom 859,9 thsd. persons were engaged in the public sector and 930,7 thsd. persons in the non-public sector.
18,6 percent of employees were engaged in trade; repair of transport means, 18,1 percent in education, 13,8 percent in industry, 8,6 percent in human health and social work activities, 6,6 percent in construction, 6,1 percent in public administration and defence; social security, 4,4 percent in transportation and storage, 4,0 percent in professional, scientific and technical activity, 2,4 percent in financial and insurance activities, 2,3 percent in agriculture, forestry and fishing and 15,1 percent in other fields of economy.
In January-May 2026, average monthly nominal salary of employees in the country increased by 7,3 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 1175,0 manats.
