Changes in prices of consumer market

Consumer price index in January-April 2026 compared to January-April 2025 increased by 5,6%, including food products, alcoholic drinks and tobacco products 6,7%, non-food products 3,7% and paid services provided to population 5,7%.

Compared to April 2025, the annual price increase was 5,5%, while in the last month it was 0,3%.

In April 2026, consumer prices for food products, alcoholic drinks and tobacco products increased by 0,3% compared to the previous month and by 6,2% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.

In April of the current year compared to the previous month, the prices of several food products such as buckwheat groats, beef and mutton, sausage products, cheese, table margarine, corn oil, lemon, banana, apple, kiwi, white cabbage, broccoli, table beetroot and potato increased, while the prices of eggs, oranges, chestnut, cauliflower, greens, cucumber, tomato, sweet pepper, eggplant, garlic and onion decreased. There were no significant changes in the prices of other food products.

In April 2026, consumer prices for non-food products increased by 0,2% compared to the previous month and by 4,0% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year. In April compared to the previous month, mainly the prices of cement, cut wood, furniture and detergents increased, while prices of jewelry decreased. There were no significant changes in the prices of other non-food products.

In April 2026, increase in prices for paid services provided to population was 0,3% compared to the previous month and 5,8% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year. In April compared to the previous month, prices for paid services provided to population, particularly dental services, catering services provided by restaurants and cafes increased, while prices for international passenger air transportation services decreased. There were no significant changes in the prices of other paid services.
