Foreign trade relations

In January 2026 legal and natural entities of the Republic of Azerbaijan realized trade operations with their partners in 128 countries of the world, goods were exported to 81 countries and imported from 122 countries. During a month foreign trade turnover amounted to 3092,1 million USD, resulting in a positive trade balance of 487,7 million USD.

Among the product groups with a larger share of imports, in January 2026 compared to January 2025, import of wheat increased by 49,9%, vegetable oils by 9,0%, buses by 2,7-fold, pipes of ferrous metals by 33,7%, and polyethylene by 72,5%, while import of fresh fruit decreased by 3,6%, butter, other dairy fats and pastes by 26,7%, pharmaceutical products by 44,5%, rolled steel by 15,4%, computing machinery, blocks and installations by 22,2%.
In January 2026, export of non-oil-gas products, accounting for 15,0% of total exports, amounted to 268,4 million USD and increased by 9,1% in current prices compared to January 2025, while it decreased by 20,7% in real terms.
