Demographic situation in the country

Since the beginning of the year number of population of the country increased by 4276 persons or 0,04% and reached to 10266627 persons for the state of March 1, 2026.

During the first two months of this year, 14797 newborns were registered by the district (city) registration departments of the Ministry of Justice, and compared to the corresponding period of 2025, this indicator decreased from 9,7 to 8,9 per 1000 population. 53,7% of newborns were boys and 46,3% were girls.

In January-February of the current year, 10878 deaths were registered in the country, and compared to the corresponding period of 2025, this indicator increased from 6,3 to 6,6 per 1000 population.

In January-February of 2026 5250 marriages and 3376 divorces were registered by the district (city) registration departments of the Ministry of Justice, and compared to the corresponding period of the previous year number of marriages decreased from 4,7 to 3,2 per 1000 population, while number of divorces decreased from 2,1 to 2,0.
