Activities of hotels and similar establishments in January-March 2026
The number of nights spent in hotels and similar establishments in January-March 2026 decreased by 3,5% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 838,2 thousand. 57,8% of the total nights spent were registered in Baku, 9,6% in Gusar, 5,6% in Naftalan, 3,5% in Guba, 3,5% in Gabala, 2,8% in Lankaran, 1,8% in Ganja, 1,5% in Shamakhi, 1,2% in Khachmaz, 1,2% in Shabran, 1,0% in Aghdam, 0,9% in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, 0,8% in Shusha and 8,8% in the hotels and similar establishments of other districts and cities.
The number of nights spent by foreigners and stateless persons in January-March 2026 increased by 1,8% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and reached 493,6 thousand, representing 58,9% of total nights. 12,8% of the total nights were spent by the citizens of the Russian Federation, 12,6% - Türkiye, 9,5% - India, 6,2% - Saudi Arabia, 4,9% - Israel, 4,4% - Pakistan, 3,5% - the United Arab Emirates, 3,5% - China, 3,3% - Kazakhstan, 2,8% - Uzbekistan, 2,6% - Kuwait, 2,4% - the USA, 2,3% - Great Britain, 1,6% - Germany, 1,3% - Iran, 1,0% - Italy, 0,9% - Georgia, 0,7% - Ukraine, 23,7% - citizens and stateless persons of other countries.
78,9% of the nights in hotels spent by foreigners and stateless persons were registered in Baku city, 9,7% in Gusar, 5,2% in Naftalan, 2,0% in Gabala, 1,2% in Guba and 3,0% in other districts and cities.
The number of nights spent in hotels by the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan made 344,6 thousand, representing 41,1% of total nights.
In January-March 2026, hotels and similar establishments’ revenues increased by 2,9% compared with January-March 2025 and amounted to 128,7 million manats, 58,2% of which were from services for the provision of rooms, 27,3% catering services, 3,8% treatment and health services and 10,7% other services.
In January-March 2026, one-time use of rooms in hotels and similar establishments was 18,1% (19,3% in January-March 2025). This indicator was 40,4% in Gusar, 39,9% in Naftalan, 34,3% in Shabran, 29,4% in Sabirabad, 26,9% in Baku, 22,0% in Salyan, 19,6% in Barda, 17,8% - Aghdam, 17,5% - Khankendi, 17,2% - Beylagan, 16,4% in Lankaran, 15,8% in Shamakhi, 15,0% in Gabala, while in other cities and regions, it was below 15,0%.
